When it comes to political donations, more people do not necessarily equal more money. According to a U.S. News analysis of data from the Center for Responsive Politics, some smaller cities have clout far greater than their populations would suggest. A few politically active businesses, or even a handful of wealthy individuals, can raise a city’s political profile. Here are the 10 U.S. cities (population 200,000 or greater) with the highest per capita individual donation rates from the 2010 election cycle.
