Chris Christie and Bob McDonnell Were the GOP's Chosen Ones - What Happens Now

Christie, McDonnell are left defending their reputations amid scandals.

Kyle Downey, a Republican political consultant and former spokesman for Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential campaign, says though each man's star has fallen a bit, there's really no comparison between the two scandals.

"It's really an apples and oranges situation here," he says. "In the case of McDonnell and his wife, it's personal enrichment and indictment, whereas with Christie it's misconduct by staff."
