During the September Emmys, interviewers brought up the prospect of a second Golden Globe go-around for Poehler and Fey, and the two said they would be discussing it at the show. Apparently the discussion went well, not surprisingly since the women have been friends for decades. Here are some highlights of their comedic chemistry:

1. "Saturday Night Live"

Poehler and Fey both honed their skills at the renown Chicago improv group Second City, but when they made it to Studio 8H they got to share their talents with the world every Saturday night. Fey joined SNL first as a writer in 1997 and began appearing on stage in 2000. Poehler joined the cast a year later. Fey was first to leave the show to head up "30 Rock," but returned in 2008 for this classic Hillary Clinton- Sarah Palin spoof with Poehler. The skit was so successful, Fey wrote about it specifically in her memoir.

2. SNL's "Weekend Update"

Poehler joined Fey at SNL's news desk, taking Jimmy Fallon's chair in the show's first ever two-women "Weekend Update" team. Seth Meyers eventually replaced Fey when she left the show, but she still would stop by from time to time so the two ladies could show the men who's boss.

3. "Baby Mama"

Fey and Poehler faced off on the big screen in the 2008 film "Baby Mama." In it, Fey played a type-A single wanna-be mother and Poehler her irresponsible surrogate. The film topped the box office its opening weekend.

4. The 2013 Golden Globes

Fey and Poehler hosted the 2013 Golden Globes in a move that had everyone asking, what took them so long? Their opening set the tone for a successful show with its mix of sweetness and sarcasm. Ironically, Poehler cracked a joke about prior host Ricky Gervais having to host the show three years in a row as punishment for his offensive behavior.

5. The 2013 Emmys

Poehler and Fey reminded everyone why they should host every awards show ever by saving host Neil Patrick Harris's floundering opening. Their heckling of the male host not only was a smart critique of the sexism often exhibited by award show hosts in the past, it was laugh-out-loud funny.
