Sydney Leathers appeared on Inside Edition Thursday night, the first of a two-part interview, to discuss her illicit online correspondence with New York mayoral candidate and chronic sex scandal target Anthony Weiner.
"I feel like he suspected this could happen but he didn't do a lot to protect himself from it," she told "Inside Edition" host Jim Moret in a clip posted on the show's website. "He was making these campaign promises that he had totally changed and he was a better man now and he learned from his mistakes, and I am proof that that is not true."
Leathers allegedly received as much as $100,000 for the sit down; a spokesperson for "Inside Edition" told the New York Post they paid Leathers to "license photos." She is also reportedly being represented by the same agent who represented Patricia Krentcil, better known as "Tan Mom."
According to Leathers, their affair – which included "very explicit" pictures and phone sex – continued as Anthony Weiner's comeback publicity tour was underway.
Since the website The Dirty first leaked the explicit photos Weiner had sent to Leathers, he has admitted that he had three online relationships since he resigned from Congress in 2011 due to previous online interactions with women outside of his marriage.
