Gina McCarthy, tapped to succeed Lisa Jackson as the Environmental Protection Agency administrator, testifies before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on Thursday, an event that experts say could generate more fireworks than Moniz's hearing.

McCarthy, the EPA's top air quality official since 2009, has been accused of regulatory overreach and will likely face tough questions about the failure of DOE-backed companies during Obama's first term, and the EPA's climate agenda.
