NRA School Shield Suggests Schools Arm More People

NRA makes safety recommendations as Senate weighs its own school safety bills.

The new bill before Congress would reauthorize the program and increase it from $30 million to $40 million per year.

The legislation would also devote money to improving safety at colleges. The so-called "CAMPUS Safety Act" would create a National Center for Campus and Public Safety to provide a national safety curriculum to college police and develop a standard for how to identify mental health issues among students.
