After a terse line of inquiry from Rayder about his motives, Snow leaves no doubt as to where his allegiances lie, telling Rayder he is ready to "fight of the side that fights for the living."
Things may have simmered down in Westeros, but everyone knows it is just a matter of time before the beasts of war rear their gruesome heads. This is no more evident than in the interaction between Sansa Stark and her handmaiden, Shae, as the two watch ships at sea. Sansa, always primed for a fairy-tale dream, chooses to play a game, making up stories for the ships, while Shae reveals a no-frills guess about the ships' path.
"Why should I make up a story when I know the truth?" Shae asks Sansa.
"Because the truth is always either terrible or boring," Sansa replies.
By the looks of things, the former may be approaching.
