I suffer from ADHD, PTSD, bipolar, severe anxiety, and major depressive disorder....since the age of 14, I have been experimented on with all these anti-anxiety, anti-depressant, anti-psychotic (DRUGS) and I am now 30...half my life having trouble with eating right, sleeping right, to keep my body functioning properly for my children and a stable job...and these prescription drugs have done nothing for yrs...they'd work for a month or 2 with me feeling like a zombie, and then my dosage would be raised and I'd feel even more like a zombie for another month or so...then here comes a new script to try....marijuana makes me a much better person all the way around dealing with these mental issues I've had for so long...tobacco and alcohol both cause an outrageous amount of deaths...eating marijuana or even smoking it has a much better scenario...plus our country would benefit greatly from the profit marijuana would bring...ITS COMMON SENSE IN MY OPINION!!!!....

if the feds can run in an arrest people for breaking "fed" law in a state where its legal than state police should be able to go arrest the president for breaking state law ... fair is fair a law is a law the feds Continually violate state law So they them selfs are criminals ... Everyone is accountable NO one is beyond reproach ....we the people for the people by the people or have we forgotten that .

The poll found that respondents identifying themselves as Republican and over 65 years old were more likely to support using federal resources "to arrest and prosecute individuals who are acting in compliance with state medical marijuana laws."

I have to wonder if this is the SAME GROUP that BELIEVES "eric holder" is Innocent and should Continue his post?

Nixon went against his own Shafer Commission's recommendation on marijuana and signed the Controlled Substances Act of 1971. He did it to hold down people he didn't like. Then he signed legislation creating the DEA. The drug war lives as the most destructive social policy since the Jim Crow Laws of the South.

If a state passes the legality of medical marijuana and the feds come in ad totally ignore that states rights isn't that cause enough for a revolution? What is the purpose of individual states having their own laws if the feds don't respect that?

I am in favor of legalizing marijuana on a federal level. If these people who are against it would do their research, they would find that the benefits of this HERB far outweigh the negativity it receives. It's NOT a narcotic. It DOESN'T kill people. The ignorance about marijuana blows my mind.

Like Spiderwoman says, these polls are frankly not worth a hoot. The only poll that counts is the one taken on election day. Proposition 19 is one such example. The Pro_Pot goons kept trying to convince the Citizens of California that Prop 19 had overwhelming support only to have to place their tails between their legs when they lost. Even today we see that the Pro_Pot forces can't even get close to obtaining the required signatures to place not only one proposition to legalize marijuana on the Nov/2012 ballot, but they couldn't get enough signature to even get for props.......they still have two in the works and they are complaining that they won't be able to get enough signatures. So....so much for these silly polls.....

Ronald L. Kirkish of CA 10:00AM May 24, 2012

"This "poll" is ridiculous. Instead of asking people whether "individuals" who are allowed to use and grow marijuana under "tightly controlled conditions" should be left alone, why don't you try asking the question giving the REAL facts? The reality is pot shops, pot docs who hand out recommendations to anyone who wants one, widespread recreational use, drug traffickers hiding behind "medical" marijuana, increased teen pot use, increased traffic fatalities, increased crime and economic damages to cities and states trying to regulate a cottage industry that just won't allow itself to be regulated. The disingenuous use of the words "individuals" and "tightly controlled conditions" is a blatant attempt to mislead. Just like "medical" marijuana laws."

I personally don't smoke marijuana but I have seen the world of difference it makes for adults who are ADHD, as opposed to dosing them up with adderall, (which by the way has meth- in its real name) or other steroids). I think all states should make it legal at least of medical purposes. It is crazy that something that grows all by its self without having to be cooked or whatever, is illegal.
