I am an Australian who's wife got her bag stolen at LaGuardia after our bags were sent ahead on another flight when our jet X Las Vegas had mechanical problems.
We flew with American Airlines and I have to say it has been one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered not to mention the stress we had dealing with the idiots at the Dallas/Fort Worth call centre and some of the people in their baggage offices.
The only person who showed some real compassion was Yolanda at LaGuardia baggage office; she was lovely.
The rest of them should be on the unemployment line or their supervisors need a kick up the arse and told to start treating their people properly so the morale goes up.
The whole attitude appears to be "you lost your bag, stiff shit.
Never again would I go to America and if I did I would most definately not be dealing with American Airlines and where is the security at the carousel area to stop people from walking in off the street to steal your luggage. It appears some airlines consider their duty of car and responsibility ends when the bag hits the carousel; this is not so especially when the bags are sent ahead on a previous flight.
Thank you AA you destroyed our holiday which we have planned and saved for over the last two years.
Now going through the claim process and that is a nightmare too.

Washington Dulles is a problem from my perspective. I have had bad luck there. The first time I flew through there, I didn't make the second leg. Second time, my baggage didn't make the second leg. The concourses aren't laid out to self contain the baggage or flight transfer.

That's not America, that's the USA.
USA-ians are too dumb to even get that right, not to mention building decent airports.

I live in LA and yes LAX is outdated. Thank goodness the international terminal is getting a $717 million dollar renovation. I am there a lot meeting customers who rent our mobile broadband hotspot devices from travelentertainmentipads.com. I glad the airport is improving and hopefully we can get off this list.

Obviously these folks have not flown through Dulles (IAD) IAD is an airport with a beautiful Saarinen terminal building built many decades ago and recently revamped to meet modern air travel. They built a bizarre network of gates, terminals, trams, and ground serve pathways that is worse than even the olden day 1980's cannot compete with in the field of annoying passengers!
Avoid Dulles at all costs as a connecting airport!

Why does a world class city like New York have a 3rd world airport? Sorry, 3rd world nations, most of you have better airports.
LaGuardia was a lousy airport in the 1970's and it has not improved with time. The gaping pothole as you exit the airport to the Grand Central Parkway says it all, it hasn't been fixed in a year.
Wadda 'ya want, it's New York, so drop dead and get outta here!

And in every one of these airports there have been multiple arrests of TSA screeners for stealing passenger property. LGA and LAX are in the top five for TSA screener arrests.

Bradley International in Connecticut should be #1 on this list! The ceiling tiles are falling down in areas, the walls reek of cigarettes and the carpets are dulled by years of traffic and heavily stained. The arcitecture isnt really an issue since I don't think there was ever a plan set for a definitive look. Sad to say, next to other Airports in the US I was more impressed by the miniscule Abiline hangars than Bradley International. This list is pathetic.

They got LAG right. Dreadful and shabby, crowded and inefficient. Buffalo is way better, and close to town.

I can't believe Dulles isn't on this list. I fly in and out of LGA and JFK often. I've never had any problems at either of these airports. Dulles is another story - I always have to wait to get through security, usually a minimum of 30 minutes. Long lines and damaged luggage are a common occurrence here.
