"According to the U.S. National Counter-Terrorism Center, there were over 5,700 Islamist terror attacks around the world in 2011, a total which remains near historic highs," Finel says. "Any claims to success, in other words, have to be muted. There have been successes, but we are not yet successful in our struggle against Islamist terror."

That view is also held at high levels of the U.S. intelligence community.

"It's hard to declare victory," says the senior intel official, "when the ideology lives, and the [jihadist] movement is alive and relatively healthy."

Regarding offensive operations in the Middle East and elsewhere... at a certain point, we create by force more terrorists than we can stamp out... we're at [we've been at] that certain point.

Time for everyone to tend their own back yard. We took care of business after 9/11.. so now bring home the troops and fix the currency and restore Freedom.. indeed restore the American way of opportunity and non interference.. that's how a society achieves greatness.. that's how the light gets in.

I don't want to throw a wet blanket on your dancing suit, America must remember that it only took about twenty of the terrorist on 911.

Gorilla fighters can work alone or in small teams.

They are not wearing uniforms, most have been Muslims but not always true.

Look what happened last year with Arab Spring all across North Africa and into the Middle East,

here in this country we had what was called the Wall Street Protesters, it could have got ugly, but don't count it out.

They are the extremist and can get violent.
