JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ MY CONCERN IS WHY THE FDA DOES NOT TAKE THESE OFF THE MARKET. SEEMS LIKE THEY DO NO APPROVE MEDS LIKE IN CANADA OR EUROPE BUT WILL APPROVE MEDS THAT KILL US, HARM US ECT. IF SATISTICS SHOW A NUMEROUS AMOUNT OF PEOPLE GET CANCER OR DIE FROM A PARTICULAR MED. THE FDA SHOULD REMOVE FROM THE MARKET.

I call them on this one. I've taken the Cr version for 10 years nightly. I am overweight but they didn't cause it. My blood pressure is good. Lower if I'm under the influence of ambien. After taking it for a while you no longer have temporary amnesia, anything you learn sticks with you while under the influence. My IQ and aptitude increased some, but I have true insomnia, so for me the reward outweighs the risk. Not getting sick, irritated, or waiting for you body to collapse because of sleep deprivation is a good thing. I'm 41 years old.

I'm trying to get off of it mainly because I have a new doctor and can't see her until the 28th. The side affects for not taking it are the worse. I have pain in my legs and right hand, haven't slept in four days, dry mouth and hallucinations. Woke up in the middle of the night asking my kids where the little dog was...we don't have a little dog so that freaked them out. The worst withdrawal is the pain I feel in my legs. It hurts to walk. I've been taking the drug for 8 years and going straight cold turkey is probably not a good idea and I might go the the ER tonight so I can see some type of doctor for the pain and the sleepiness.

First because of Meth makers, people who suffer with allergies or sinus problems now have to wait in line and sign for a drug that was easy available. Because of the people who do illegal things others must suffer.

It takes many clinical studies to prove an issue. Now because of the study, people might not be able to get what has worked for years for them.

Dr. Oz is the worst for creating panic on anything he personally does not take. You would have to have hundreds of bottles of different homeopathic meds to do what he suggest. And they do not go through clinical studies.

I think medication should only be between a physician and his/her patient. FDA approved this drug. If people are abusing it by taking more or not following the instructions then they should not be allowed to have it prescribed.

I read that an early sign of a serious ambien side effect is constantly repeating yourself and memory loss.

I have been taking Ambien for years and have never had any problems with it. I think if you suffer from insomnia you should be able to get the prescription, I'm afraid that all this bad talk will make doctors stop giving it to people who really need it!

My husband took Ambien for about a year and a half. Since he has a combination of serious medical conditions and takes a lot of heavy-duty meds to begin with, it was not that easy to determine exactly which meds were involved in his symptoms (having frequent periods of being so sleepy during the day that he could not function; frequent falls; urinary incontinence). But it was with the Ambien that I had first observed him doing really bizarre stuff, such as going to sleep on his elbows and knees; becoming aggressive when I tried to get him to lie down; standing in the shower for hours not appearing to know where he was. Much of the stuff he did, he had no memory of doing. And with the withdrawal of Ambien from his collection of prescription drugs, he made a complete turnaround.

I was shocked because of the ease with which he was able to withdraw. I don't think the doctors really believe me about all this. But they're "happy". These are the doctors who prescribed all this stuff he takes, and the same ones who were rudely dismissing his symptoms as "over-medication." They got him into that mess, and now it seems to be gone, they're "happy." What a lot of help they are.
