Massachusetts residents like their hometown hero, but Scott Brown's birth control stance may put that at risk

There is also a big chance for a backlash if Warren can use the issue to connect Brown to the religious right.

"[Warren] is trying to make him a radical, conservative Republican. If he steps into that role, he's in trouble," says Raymond La Raja, a professor at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. "He's got to be careful that he's not seen as some guy on the religious right. They don't want a Rick Santorum in Massachusetts."

As long as the Hindu's, Muslims, Atheists are not given the same rights as Catholics to reject laws that do not conform with their beliefs, politicians like Brown and Santorum are gung-ho about keeping the government out of religion.

I am sick of the Christian Right in my country hijacking every debate just because they exist.

Alexis de Tocqueville wrote in "Democracy In America," "The greatest part of British America was peopled by men who having shaken off the authority of the Pope, acknowledged no other religious supremacy." This country was founded by Protestants and Deists for Protestants and Deists and Catholic Churches were burned in the Colonial days. The question is not why did Catholics come to this Protestant country, but why did this Protestant country allow Catholics to come here?

Andrew Sullivan stated in his column in the Daily Beast, "How is it possible to describe this issue as a violation of individual conscience, when no one is forced to use contraception against their will, and most Catholics have already consulted their conscience, are fine with the pill, and want it covered?

The American people have decided about abortion -- the majority of Americans support Roe v. Wade. Abortion is a Constitutional protected right. Those too fragile for our Constitution should find another country. Bon Voyage! The largest number of women having abortions are Catholics because they are forced to use abortion as a source of birth control. The Catholic Church is not children and female friendly!

Elizabeth Warren has America's best interest at heart. Senator Brown has his own best interest at heart.

SeattleGuy of WA is a humorist, obviously speaking with tongue in cheek with respect to The Heritage Foundation. For the edification of other readers - The Heritage Foundation is a "severely" conservative think tank....
