Komen Brand Tainted in Women's Health Fight

Fallout from Planned Parenthood-Susan Komen throwdown may be worse for breast cancer charity

Komen's change of heart may mitigate any long-term damage to its brand, says Kahn, but she also says that it has now been associated with a political cause, for better or worse. "[People] may not remember the exact flap," she adds, but the mental connection they have drawn between Komen and pro-life politics may be difficult to eliminate.

Komen's contribution to Planned Parenthood is about 0.02% of their budget. Komen has a right to withdraw their support when Planned Parenthood doesn't aid women in the fight against breast cancer. Planned parenthood doesn't provide mammograms as they said they did.

Planned Parenthood does NOT represent all women. In the U.S. 50% of women are opposed to abortion.

It's a shame Komen caved in to Planned Parenthood's attack.
