The U-6 numbers are coming down too. It was afterall the GREAT RECESSION, not the mediocre one. Knowing economics then you do realize in a typical recession it takes 2 to 3 years to recover. Enjoy the good news and stop being so gloomy. Unless you're a Pub, in that case you have every right to be gloomy.

No offense, but I don't consider economics a true science. Truman used to pine for a one-handed economist because they always said, on the one hand....

I don't know this, but they haven't they always figured the numbers this way, but now all of a sudden their not legit? That's convenient.

Excuse me, but 1.1 million potential workers stopped looking for work last month. Me thinks they are still unemployed. In economics (My BA is Economics) in order to make correct decisions, the entire population of whatever is being studied must be considered. If not, the numbers are being played with and the problem will never be solved. In the case of the U.S. right now, over 16% of the potential workforce is idle. Whether looking for work or not, they are unemployed without a job to take care of themselves and loved ones. Only politicians would get away with playing with statistics as does the president and congress.

More bad news for the Pubs. What will they run on now?
