The headline makes it sound like Iran has threatened someone. It has done no such thing.

The source of the worries are US officials doing a "what if" game designed to heighten tensions and confuse the public about what the Iranian government is doing and has said.

We saw the media play the same helpful hand in making Iraq look like a threat.

Iran is the problem. There you have a theocracy that has no second thought to execute you if you do not obey their sacred religion. They would rather cleans humankind that doesn't agree with their ideology. Wake up James! You will be the first they come for if they win the war they have been waging on America for three decades.

@aubreyfarmer, and anyone else who has no idea bout teens today,

I’m seventeen years old and as for the Zion and whatever else you are saying I’m not debating bout that cause in all honesty I have no idea what that it other then it being bout Jews being promised land I think, but what I am sure about is what a teen feels bout the enlisting in a war. I keep up with this Iran issue because it is a factor that plays into if I go to college and what I will major in and for anyone that I call my friend. Not ever teen age boy or girls believes in what are country stands for or are they willing to give there lives for it. I know of a number or kids in my school that will move to a different country or go to prison if a draft ever happens also most of these kids have a family member that are government workers to. So I guess what I’m trying to get across is don’t try to bash a group of “Americans” that you know nothing about. But as one of these teens you have depicted as “Stupid children think war is like some video game where they can sit on the couch and drink diet cola and eat pizza” I can say you part right I enjoy diet coke, pizza, and MW3 but I don’t think a game is like real life ever. Also “Because they are ignorant and easily manipulated.” So are some Iran’s. I’m guessing you’re trying to defend. So my last point before my comments gets trolled, I LOVE AMERICA AND EVER THING IT STANDS FOR I WILLING TO ENLIST TOMORROW AND GIVE MY LIFE THE VERY NEXT DAY. As a 4th generation Mexican-American and a Teen

Iran is not the problem its other Powers that are edging to gang up on Iran that are the problem. Just like they did in Libya. In recent times Iran has never attacked anyone. We as humankind need to concentrate on cleansing the minds of politicians and humanity globally. They need to think and practice what Dr. Martin Luther King said. "Lets meet thier physical force with soul force."

The proper response from US should be:

Go ahead and make my day.

Iran doesn't want to commit suicide. The Stennis task force alone has more power than the whole Iranian air force and navy combined.

Anthony Cordesman, is nothing but an inciter. He is not qualified to make a call on any military theory and action. His commentaries and strategic analyses on national TV during the 1st Gulf war were all wrong, baseless, a total waste of airtime, viewers attention and was totally off point.

More pro-war propaganda aimed at scaring Americans into another endless war in the middle east, I guess two world wars are not enough?

Iran is not a problem to the US military--we have anti missile and anti aircraft technology and Iran has no idea of our capabilities in that regard---we would love a first strike by Iran---give us a reason to bomb them back to Persian Empire days after Alexander was through with it.
