Wake up people...the federal govt wasted over 2 billion dollars on the CDC for the first avian flu preparation. I can still hear your and my tax dollars being flushed down the drain. The CDC is nothing more than a bloated government agency that has done nothing in the last 40 years more than identify legionnaire's disease (on a fluke), waste our money building a monument to Arlen Specter, and become another bloated waste of taxpayers' money employing worthless public health "experts" who couldn't get jobs anywhere else. It is a travesty.

Fact: 30,000 people die annually form "regular" flu (influenza). Usually these people are elderly or have compromised immune systems. No studies have beed done to measure the degree of compromize done to these individuals bu the overuse of antibiotics, etc. Are there some individuals who are uncompromised who get the flu? Yes. Do some of the die? Probably.

My opinion: More government propaganda to get the sheep ready for the slaughter. "Never let a good crisis pass you by". Think Martial Law!
