I live in the Congressman's District. I've listened to him on TV, participated in his telephone town meetings and read articles on his website. He does not represent the broad majority of his constituants. He's an avowed obstructionist, more interested in his personal views and his re-election campaign, than in finding common ground on critical issues that face our District, State and Country. I will be going door-to-door this election season to make sure he is not returned to Congress.

Rep. West does not deserve to serve in the US House of Representatives! This really makes me angry. It is not his country, it is not the Republican Party's country, it is not the Tea Party's country, it is our country, my country and your country. This lame brained ignorant numbskull is lambasting liberals and the President of the United States to leave the US because we don't all agree with him? The nerve of this joker is beyond reprehensible. Rep. West, you better leave this country if you don’t want to respect the rights of Americans to have different opinions. You have no business in politics period. Why don't you climb back up on that big fat donkey you rode in on and leave.

How is God's name did the people of FL.'s Gold Coast, not the Red Neck Riviera, ever vote for Alan West??? Boca Raton, the Bastion of Well-Educated, mostly Progressive and those of means, suddenly ALL develop Brain Damage? I was shocked & saddened that my former Neighborhood, surrounded for years, by the likes of Rep. Wexler, become so Politically uneducated, to vote for someone who is diametrically opposed to the likes of the Community. Perhaps, BocaRaton has suddenly become addicted to "TEA". I really hope those of you that think that Elections don't matter have come to your senses.

Allen West will have my vote anytime.

"People need to understand and define before they just go out there and say, willy nilly, 'Do you think the Tea Party is great?'"

Isn't this what the pro-Obamacare people were saying about the polls that indicated that people were against health care reform? Now that the shoe is on the other foot the argument seems to carry a lot more weight with the right-wingers.

Allen West's press sec. Angela Sachitano, is one of the most unethical former newscasters to ever disgrace the Florida scene, so it is obvious that he would choose her after his first choice called for an insurection if he lost the election. Allen himself should be in an army brigg somewhere for his illegal, psycho actions during the war. Florida is ready for a change, whether West believes the polls are scientific or his personal polls are acurate.

I believe Allen West is somewhat correct. If you ask people if they want the government to be fiscally responsible most people would say yes. The problem with the tea party isn't there principles, but their obstinance, their arrogance and their rudeness. Just read EddieButch of NY and you will see a fine illustration of this. Eddie, you will win more converts with honey than with vinegar. The problem with people like Eddie and the tea party folks is they don't realize they represent a minority opinion. You're right Eddie this is the USA, not the USSR. In the USA the majority rules, not people with your fringe opinions. If your aim is to persuade people of the rightness of your opinion you need to do more than throw stinkbombs. American people are smart enough to know the only way to balance the budget and reduce the debt is a combination of spending cuts and tax increases. Nothing else gets you there. The tea party folks don't understand this. It's not their principles people are against it's their inablity to come up with rational solutions to our vexing problems.

Very well put blow bag Gary. Here you are repeating all the talking points from the MSNBC daily evening playbook .Do the Koch bros have as many hidden foundations as Soros? Will the liberal media keep up the assault on the Tea Party? Do the members of the TP even know who the John Birch society was, or do we leave that to liberal hacks like you. Further , using words like popular.Do you mean the part of society that is 22% of population (Progressive Liberals) When you get your A-- handed to you in 2012,you will claim foul,racism,and a plethora of bull-sh-t, including a re-count . This is USA, not USSR

eddiebutch of NY 11:45AM December 01, 2011

The next election should deal a further blow to the Tea Party, as the demographic in presidential elections tends to skew younger, whereas only the truly dedicated (many Tea Party folks) tend to vote in the midterms.

@Gary of AL

You make an interesting comment.

However, it's true the Tea Party (whatever their backing or inspiration) was a force to be reckoned with in November 2010, which meant there were enough voters (not just millionaires) who were a part of it or willing to buy in... so if the Tea Party loses popularity, that means losing voters, therefore losing relevance and losing the ability to influence elections as broadly. So my suspicion is that they wouldn't totally disregard public opinion. (though, to be fair, what politician would?)
