WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain, hit by several allegations of sexual harassment earlier this month, said Monday that a woman will soon emerge who will accuse him of having a 13-year affair with her. [8 Politicos Who Survived Scandals]
The former pizza company executive told CNN he had nothing to hide and that he is staying in the race. But the stream of accusations against him might make him consider giving up his presidential bid, Cain said.
Asked if he would drop out of the campaign due to the allegations, Cain said: ``I would make that decision depending on the circumstances and how it is impacting my wife and my family.''
Cain said his campaign had been contacted by an Atlanta television station working on a story about the woman who said she had an affair with him. [See a collection of political cartoons on the GOP hopefuls.]
``I just wanted to give you a heads up,'' Cain told CNN. ``I don't have anything to hide.''
Cain, who rode a wave of support earlier this month and topped some national polls, has faced sexual harassment charges from several women. His support has flagged amid those charges and some gaffes on the campaign trail.
