the biggest problem is too much focus on ideology and the

desires of special interests. increasing taxes on capital gains

]and dividends is necessary to help end giveaways to the

superrich. medicare costs can be reduced by simply giving

the government more power to negotiate prices. there is no

justification for republicans refusing to approve essential

infrastructure projects. defense budgets have too often been based on the desires of local constituencies, not actual

military requirements. this must change. a law to ban out-

right commodities futures investment by those not buying

the products is long overdue. this will help bring down crude

oil prices and other commodities prices which wall street has artificially inflated.
