Gates has made (or followed) some very bully and irresponsible child-like dangerous decisions for America in regards to the military and in foreign policy.
Every president and administration has been very cautious to seek UN and NATO "buddyship", or alliances (to be politically correct) before ordering U.S. military troops to invade autonomous countries. Poppa bush did it in the early 1990's, his son bush did it later....and the list goes on and on. The "smoke and mirrors" is "remember guys, we're in this together, lets shake on it." With the exception of WWI and WWII, the U.S. involvement in foreign wars and military conflicts has always been more of a solo act....than music from an entire orchestra. The U.S. has always been more than happy to use taxpayers hard earned money to pay for these military invasions (Korea, Vietnam, Iraq conflict, Afhganistan conflict, and the current middle east conflicts. But the gripe today is "hey, we ain't got the money to keep doing this when our economy going down the toilet." So gates is passing the hat around for money contributions. Well gates, don't hold your breath. You look like a street wino on a street corner asking for money.
The master maniacal butcher remains German Nazi Adolph Hitler. He sparked WWII which amounted to a world loss of over 60 million lives. Adolph Hitler was a #1 bigot and racist. He could not have exterminated 6 million Jewish people or caused the loss of over 60 million world human lives without the nationalism and 100% support of the German people. We must be very cautious as to how we respond to nationalism.
Compared to maniacal German Nazi Adolph Hitler, individuals like Osama Bin Ladin, Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, Fidel Castro, and others.....are small time homicidal street thugs. But what do all these individuals seem to have in common?
The salient commonality among these maniacal butchers is a selfish cult like hypnotic domination over their flock or people. You first must have the ability to hypnotize people into your belief system (no matter how obtuse or twisted it is). Once people are under your power and control, then they will be obedient and butcher Jews, Mexicans, Blacks, babies......you name it and they will kill it, if the belief system is strong enough. There are commonalities between belief systems and nationalism.
We must rationally agree that the German people got hypnotized into adolph hitler's belief system of nationalism. Yes, perhaps their economy and other factors made the German people ripe for hitlers maniacal intent. But remember they did it on their on free will. We must be very careful not to allow a nationalistic mentality of (my country right or wrong) (my country do or die) take over our minds. What if we were to be told by our government to kill babies? (Remember, we're saying "what if?") Or kill illegal Mexican immigrants, kill Blacks, or any other inhuman requests? Hopefully there is a fail-safe mental point in which people can say, "I'm sorry, I am resolved not to kill babies, even if I love my country and my government."
Unless we become butchers ourselves, we must use caution and not allow nationalism to guide our principles of right and wrong.....no matter how much we love our country.
Are we scared to arm the rebels? Shades of Cuba's Fidel Castro climb to power huhhh?? Then a failed "Bay of Pigs" and the near nuclear world disaster between President Kennedy and USSR Premier Knikita Khrushchev.
How about the little problem with Sadam?
Over 10 years ago a reporter for the Financial Times named Alan Friedman uncovered the shocking story. He revealed that: President Bush and Secretary of State James Baker had committed billions of taxpayer dollars to assist Saddam Hussein. Bush and Baker allowed the export of U.S. technology that would directly help Baghdad build a massive arsenal of chemical, biological and possibly nuclear weapons. The arms were given to help Iraq fight Iran. The CIA helped orchestrated illegal arms deals that involved Pinochet supporters in Chile, the apartheid regime in South Africa as well as most of the major NATO allies in Europe.
All of this was to prop up a man that President Bush and later his son would compare to Hitler.
Most countries in the world in the year 2011 seem to have a misconception as to the meaning of freedom and democracy in America. The first misnomer is that freedom means you can do whatever the hell you want to do. No you can't. The second misnomer is that you have the right to buy and carry a pistol anywhere you go in America. You can also shoot and kill those you dislike. No you can't. Gun lovers feel that gun ownership rights were included in the constitution to assure that American citizens could overthrow a bad government (if indeed one were so). At the time of this writing, Governor Perry of Texas wants to give college professors the right to carry guns on campus. What seems like a great idea is really a mirror image of the lawless days of the old west in America. A time and place where even the preacher wore a gun holster and a gun. An era when everyone walked the streets with a gun and holster strapped to their waist. If someone as much as sneezed, people fired first, then asked questions later. In a much larger scale, today we see countries advancing their nuclear technology to a time and place when every country of the world will be a threat to each other. The governments of the world quest for power and control will ignite the final nuclear war which will mark the end of the human race. All known human history is a testament that humans possess an innate warring spirit which will determine their demise. The history of human behavior depicts humans as self-serving, selfish, vindictive, territorial, and innate born warriors. The Beatles told us that all we needed was love. There is not enough human love in this world to prevent war. Humankind can only prevent war by controlling human anger, not by creating more lethal weapons, and not by "walking softly and carrying a big stick". Do all humans have the propensity to kill? Presented with the right stimulus.....yes (from the most pius individual to the highest government agency).
Most countries of the world see an America where everyone has equal opportunities regardless of creed, religion or color. But is that really true? Have women and minorities reach parity in education, employment, and housing opportunities in America? One Black president in the White House does not mean parity for the millions of American Blacks, Hispanic, Chinese, nor women. Ask yourself, where do the preponderance of minorities live? In nice clean middle class neighborhoods? Not really, truth is, in Ghettos, Barrios, China towns, and Government housing. Who are the 10% richest in America? Are they Black, Hispanic, Chinese? Are they women? Try White male Americans. For some reason, amidst all the news media hype, movies, television, and music....the truth gets lost every time.
Most countries of the world see an America where all Americans have a home, two cars in the garage, new clothing in the closet, plenty of food in the pantry and in the fridge. Most countries of the world see an America where both husband and wife work, have a bank account, have savings and investments, have set aside the necessary money to pay for their children's college, and have set aside the necessary money to pay for their health needs should their health insurance refuse to pay for catastrophic illness. Most countries of the world fail to see that only 2-3% of Americans are truly rich. The other 97-98% are struggling to stay alive. Most Americans spend more money than they earn, so most are deeply in debt. Most working Americans are harassed by bill collectors. Many lose their jobs, homes and cars. If only foreigners would understand that yes you can have things in America but what kind of freedom is living in debt?
OPEC members hold around 75% of world crude oil reserves and energy does make the world go round and round. The countries with the largest oil reserves are, in order, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Venezuela, Russia, Libya, Kazakhstan and Nigeria. Now where are all our military troops?
So what's freedom but a second class emotion. World population is nearing 7 billion humans. How easy or difficult do you suppose it is to have power and control over the lives of 7 billion people? Isn't that exactly what maniacal Adolph Hitler wanted to do? How grand or boring do you suppose this world would be with 7 billion identical human cloned minds?
