GOP Uses Border Fence as Immigration Distraction for 2012

Distraction? With the majority of Americans wanting enforcement who is distracted?

We've been invaded by 11-18 million people, is it slowing down? The minute the economy picks up it will increase, it's better to handle it now.

There are a lot of people that came here 10-20 years ago, they never have tried to get legal. Do we really want that dishonest of a person here taking from the American taxpayer?

It appears the US media is distracted, they don't care about the millions of Americans out of work. America's workers will remember this, and we will remember who stole our jobs.

One other point: we all know that people commit a crime and make a run for the border. In fact, it was a chief way of running from U.S. Law in the bad old days.

These days, the criminals in Mexico... make a run for the border. Just a few years ago the Border Patrol was badly underfunded. The illegal aliens did exactly that.. made a run for the American Border. The fence stops a lot of that. Napolitano's 'electronic fence' (you can google that) was in the wrong place and she wanted that fence to replace 200 Border Patrol Agents. That was dumb, but if you place it correctly, it reduces the number of officers you need by a significant amount. You just need to be bright about which fence you put where.

Only the Democrats think we are interested in building a fence along all of the border. ONLY the Democrats.

A fence is a barrier. If we install multi layered barrier fence between the metro areas between Mexico and the U.S., crime in the U.S. goes way down, and crossings in the metro go way down.. if not to zero.

Anyone at all who has been to the remote and very rugged areas along the border knows there won't be wire fences there.. but there will be electronic fences galore. Much better to call them Barriers, and anyone who looks will discover Janet Napolitano tried to get just such a fence up in Arizona in the very rough country the Drug Cartels were using to move dope into the United States. Those electronic fences work in flat open country.. they don't work in the jagged hills along the border. No one is up there because it is to rough to get in.

There are HUGE open areas along the border. Dry as a bone with dusty roads that carry the dopers over and back. Truck barriers their work and then electronic fences in the flat lands.

The barriers.. wire and electronic.. work. No one, however, is proposing a wire fence from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico. The Democrats just want you to think the Republicans are and as they do that, they open the doors to the Drug Cartels, and THAT IS a crime.

This is why we need interior enforcement such as E-verify, no match letters sent to employers and stiffer fines for Employers who hire them.

Right now once they are here there is a good chance that they will not be deported and can buy fake IDs and get a job.

And yes they do take jobs from Americans. They don't come here to just pick crops, they will take any job they can by undercutting the current wage rate.

What we need is a legal immigration reform bill. A large segment of illegal alienations do not come from Mexico, but come here legally and overstay their welcome. Personally I am more concerned about illegal immigrants who have evil intentions, i.e. the 9/11 terrorists, that come from Asia, Africa and Europe than I am about the folks that come across the border. I know many would like to believe Americans are losing jobs to illegal aliens, but that's not true. How many of you out there want to pick crops? Go ahead close the borders and watch your food prices sky-rocket. What we need is a sensible legal immigration plan.

Easy enough to get rid of illegal aliens, Problem is corruption in Washington, incentives used to lure them in, like jackpot baby citizenship. An absurdity to give people benefits for criminal activities like illegal entry.

MAKE YOUR VOICE KNOWN TODAY OR (THIS WEEK) ON E-VERIFY

JOBS--the economy has everything to do with illegal immigration, and as more and more of these unfortunate people pour in from the borders or from across the world. The expenditure will keep rising for every US taxpayer, until Congress does something about it; it does no-way mean amnesty. We have the resources to stop this massive invasion, but neither party has relentlessly pursued it. President Obama had great intentions for a while, than fell off in the wrong direction. Only the TEA PARTY lawmakers in straw polls have openly spoke about the financial ramifications, while main GOP members remain silent, as do the Democrats. With 20 million citizens out of work, we as citizens and legal residents must insure that our borders are sealed and that internal enforcement is substantial. There are numerous laws moving through Congress, but the "Legal Workforce Act" has the power to slowly but surely drive the foreign workers out of the jobs, meant for our own people.

The Immigration Control and Reform Act (IRCA) mandates procedures for business owners to verify the employment eligibility of their workforce, but since the 1986 law it has loosely applied until our prior president George H.W. Bush implemented Pilot program called E-Verify in October 1991. The Congressional authorization for the E-Verify electronic employment eligibility confirmation for employees was to expire on November 1, 2008. Republican Senator Jeff Sessions introduced an amendment in 2009 that would have made E-Verify permanent and mandatory for all construction companies, although Senator Harry Reid did would not allow the bill to come up for a vote. Reid's contention was, “We need to do comprehensive immigration reform. We cannot do it piecemeal," In July 2010 a reporter In Las Vegas said, “When you go to the unemployment office there's many U.S. citizens who are unemployed--construction workers and they don't have jobs because right now, some of those construction companies find it easier to hire undocumented workers."

If President Obama’s “Job Stimulus” had passed in the Senate yesterday, one of its sections was the “Construction” projects. So who are the jobs going to, without the guarantee that Contractors and sub-contractors are going to hire labor—Americans and Green Card Recipients? Without federal programs as the policing LEGAL WORKFORCE ACT” Secure Communities, the 287 (G) unethical employers can still bypass immigration laws and they will for more profit. This is the equivalent circumstances of any company, which includes Farmers and the agrarian industries who are cheating US workers of jobs. We can remove illegal alien criminals and so called law abiding illegal’s at the same time?

Rep. Lamar Smiths “LEGAL WORKFORCE ACT” (H.R. 2885) HELP THE WORKING AMERICANS AND STOP THESE TRAVESTIES OF OUR LAWS. E-Verify will be a very successful supplement to stopping the illegality of people with foreign status from tak

Almost everyone that works this issue on the borders has stated that a fence is not the answer and that it will not work. I agree and it is time to stop wanting something that is not based in reality. As a nation we have spent countless dollars on BS programs that make us feel better, but in the long run have not solved the problem it was supposed to address. I cannot believe that we cannot get a room full or people that have WORKED the border for years and ask them what they think will work.

It is time to stop trying to run this country on the dribbles of a few, that have no idea of what they speak.
