Are you serious? Surely you jest? "People are no longer drinking the Dem Kool-Aid?"
I am willing to bet all of us who comment on US News have heard that tired and simple-minded comment a thousand times each, ever since Reverend Jones fed his "people" poisoned Kool_Aid, decades ago. Come on, R. Byron, come up with something original and, at least, fairly accurate.
There is something about statements, never researched, but used to support a person's opinion that enrages me! Sorry for this over-the-top reaction.
How do you, though, Byron, form an opinion about a topic, and never attempt to research the truth of what is/was the foundation of your opinion?

Pappy:
Slight correction: "It (Obama's budget) was a VOTE AGAINST TAKING A VOTE on Obama's budget." Harry Reid wanted Ryan's budget to be "on the record" so Reid could analyze it more thoroughly and have documentation that Ryan's budget intended to defund Medicare. Democrats did not want or intend to vote on Obama's budget at that time, and didn't.
Note the comments on this site that give even more individual facts on the details of this vote.

Dr. Sam of CA:
Your comments are truly striking and completely accurate, in my opinion. I wish I knew why President Obama has "caved" so to a group of politicians who have already joined in the creation of a political oligarchy, totally veering from the democratic process in doing so.
Come on, Billy Boy, ask me for my primary sources on our future oligarchy in America, on the Republican Party's and Corporations' American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), the Corporatization of Water--the "NEW OIL for the eventual "dialing-down" of Oil Corporations," the Monsanto Corporation's influence on Fox Cable News, The Republican Party and Fox Cable News, Rupert Murdoch's negative influence on democracy, and Monsanto's influence on the FDA and EPA, etc., etc, etc. I am ready for ya, buddy!

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, CoolCent. com

1/3 of voters don't even pay tax, so they have no dog in fight! Why would they care if rest of us pay more? Fixed poll! I say pool taxpayers and let us see then what the % is.

There was the Age of reason. Now, in America, we are in the Age of folly where ignorant nihilists want to destroy the world they also want to rule. It seems that Obama thinks that compromise means perpetual surrender. Bullies exploit such weaknesses to their advantage, believing that their prey is always ready to be eaten even as they keep raising the ante for their destruction. Now, as in the past encounters with Obama, Republicans are running a ring around the President of the United States, supposedly the most powerful man in the world. But even weak people at some point decide they have had enough, and want to demonstrate strength—strength of purpose, of resolve, of principle, of prowess. Is there really a fighting spirit in this man who said during his election campaign that he can fight more, and better than dame Clinton. Either Obama must stand up to the bully now, or he would pay a terrible price later. If he wants to lose his re-election, that clearly is his choice. But he should not in the process sink the Democratic Party! There is no better time than now—now that all the polls support his approach and vision (remember the “public option” issue in helath care reform fight?). American people are saying clearly, loudly, overwhelmingly in the debt ceiling fight that they prefer compromise, taxing the rich, a balance approach to solving the debt problem. They prefer jobs over mindless cutting of cherished program and needed revenue. They want Washington to leave entitlement programs alone (here Obama differs), etc. A President of the United States is supposed to be a very busy man, virtually presiding over the world, de facto. Now Republicans want Obama to be so completely and for long pre-occupied with their agenda, with the "debt crisis" they created, to the detriment of even the greatest of all American concerns—the job issue. Without addressing this concern, Obama will in the end surely lose, and that is the genius of the Republican extremist and hardball politics. Didn’t they tell us that they want to make Obama a one-term President. Obama appears to be concurring, obliging, even now staking his Presidency on their agenda. Amazing! Surely more important, if Republicans succeed, we will all lose big in so many ways—in much higher joblessness, in social racor and general divisiveness, in the collapse of US and world economy, in a worse recession, in broken and unrepaired bridges and highways, in unfunded liabilities, in poorer medical care for all, but especially the elderly and other disadvantaged people, in general ignorance in the land due to lack of objective thinking and glorification of ignorance, in a possible, if not probable social confrontation and lawlessness, in the US becoming the laughing stock of the world. So, where is "Country First" in the Republican extremist agenda? He who has ears, let him hear now!!!

Clearly a Flawed Poll! The poll disputes itself and thus completely unreliable.
One question didn't match the rest of the results and it was a long tedious, confusing survey. But that didn't stop the crazy right wing echo chamber to jump all over what is clearly a flaw in the poll. Google the title of this post and you'll see that this was a viral talking point on all the nutty right media outlets, Roff was just copying what is essentially a press release which requires no thinking, whew.
The gimmick is for Republican to use the word 'Balanced' which is exactly opposite of what the Republicans want. Despite the one flawed question, a statistical blip, the rest of the survey is consistent with most polls that Americans by 2/3rds want to raise taxes on the rich to help solve the deficit. Anything else is a lie.

Saw a president who appeared as though he had pouted all day, and had to appear on nation wide TV July 25 in PRIME TIME to show he was still in charge (not sure of what). He was snubbed by Congress after the Saturday photo op!
Obama is so predictable. One can come close to guessing the sentences in the first three paragraphs. 'We had a surplus in 2000. I was left a mess by Bush. It was real bad. Bush gave people tax cuts! Bush gave people prescription drugs! We need a balanced approach. Bush got us involved in two wars! We need a balanced approach. We had the worse recession since the great depression. "I can pay more taxes!" We need a balanced approach. Congress needs to pass this debt ceiling bill or we won't be able to take care of social security; veterans; MEDICARE; or soldiers!" Scare! Scare! Scare! (I can’t go through this again between now and the election cause I’m beginning to sound like a broken record!!)
As CBO told him earlier this year, “We cannot score a speech!” He has worn out the telepromptered speeches; hearing that whiny voice; blaming everyone but himself. The guy is simply not up to the job, and we made a BAD MISTAKE ELECTING HIM IN 2008. He had no experience; not even one term in the Senate, and VOTED AGAINST RAISING THE DEBT CEILING WHEN HE WAS IN THAT AUGUST BODY!
We are now well over 800 days without a budget. He failed to mention that the piece of trash he sent over in February received a 97-0 vote AGAINST in the Senate.
The man is losing confidence and credibility each time he speaks .................. and he talks …. incessantly!
Obama reminds me so much of a phrase used by John Bright years ago, "He is a self-made man and worships his creator."
OBAMA SHOULD BE CHALLENGED IN THE PRIMARIES! ANYONE LISTENING???

"Remove those who are "leaning" means this poll is only taken from the braindead who are suckers for leading questions that mean nothing but what the pollster wants to manipulate.
Bogus poll
Americans don't support undermining this country, so if this poll was fair than it would have to ask Americans if they hate this country as much as the tea party
Did the poll ask if Americans support the billionaire welfare that the tea party is pushing? All while raising taxes on the poor and middle class, yes that's what the tea party is pushing
This poll is bogus
Look at real polls in states like Wisconsin and Ohio where Republicans are getting run out of town tarred and feathered.
