The most important reason we celebrate Memorial Day may be just plain natural and instinctive. As the weather gradually warms and becomes summery we relax and naturally become more empathetic. Our thoughts would then transfer to thanking those who are responsible for our fortunes. This is only a human trait and happens because we are spiritually and cerebrally healthy. Therefore to celebrate Memorial Day is automatic and a natural inclination. So regardless of where Memorial Day originated; Charleston North Carolina or Fredericksburg Virginia, the idea to honor our war heroes would occur around the same time every year without any reminders. Some would consider that to be a crucial idea.

It is a reminder that the human race is innately ethical along with our many other traits. The question is: What does it say of the United States of America, that we honor our soldiers innately, and instinctively, who died in the service of our country?
