Jobs began leaving our country at a steady rate when Reagan was President. Since then, until 2008, 15 million jobs left the United States. NAFTA was in full force, and China is "Smokin" hot!". I cannot imagine why Obama wanted to run for President, as no President was going to fix this job shortage in one term, nor will it be fixed in two terms. So, Obama has been attempting to up the job rate and lower unemployment. You are looking for a swift and uncomplicated return to the past. How would you change this situation in a swift and uncomplicated way?
Obama has, however, done many good things, and contrary to many Conservative groups, Obama did win the approval of most economists for "slowing down" additional major unemployment in the U.S. Employment is very, very slowly moving up, but no amount of jobs will ever return us to the state of employment we enjoyed in the past.
In addition, corporations are now Citizens of the United States of America! Corporations are free to use corporate money to "buy" American candidates, and a corporation has the right to vote into power their "winning" candidate. No more of this "pansy stuff" like electing a candidate with HUMAN citizens. This corporate funding is guaranteed by order of our very own U.S. Supreme Court. Did any of you vote for corporate citizenship?
Why, however, should corporations bring manufacturing back to the U.S.A.? Corporations make far bigger profits by hiring China's and India's workers. Corporations may be citizens of the United States, but most corporations are not as enthusiastic about American patriotism when it comes to gaining the biggest profits for their corporation. So bringing back all those jobs will not happen. We can only hope, slowly but surely, that HUMAN Americans will cleverly reinvent themselves with our well-recognized and outstanding abilities for innovation.
During this past month, "19 states recorded statistically significant changes in employment. The largest over-the-month statistically significant job gains occurred in New York (+45,700), Texas (+32,900), Pennsylvania (+23,700), and Massachusetts (+19,500)." (Bureau of Labor Statistics, May 2011)

employment, all of which were increases. The largest increase occurred in Texas
(+254,400), followed by California (+144,200), Pennsylvania (+80,000), Ohio

Did anyone expect an immediate return to "full throttle" employment?

It is clear that neither Washington or Wall Street has the answers as they are both looking out for themselves. We the People need to look for every oportunity to support the products and companies that have chosen to support this economy. Manufacturing matters and is the low hanging fruit. What happened to all those "Shovel ready jobs" that BO pronounced were there? Why is the infrastructure of this country crumbling and all that money QE1 & QE2 went to the bankers, Wall Street and the financial companies?? Why are states, cities and local counties broke?? Because the world is broke!! DUH!!! It's going to take years to get back to half of what it was 10 years ago. Do you think we need to look to these idiot politicians to run this country?? Most of them can't balance their checkbooks like Timmy Geithner. Come on..........Hey you all voted for "Change". Well, it's here!!!!
