No one, I mean absolutely no one, will ever again be forgiven for illegal entry into onto the territory of the united states. Those days are over. Other than that Obama's plans are just fine.

How about the "BASEBALL MOM" (my wife) with 4 kids of her own plus my 12 year old whom he calls "mom". She came here on a dependents visa @ age 15, while her mother went to school on a student visa. She graduated H.S. in Minnesota in 98', then decided to stay here with her father, who had gained citizenship, instead of going back to Tanzania. She married @ 24 to a very abusive american, and got divorced 3 mo. before she became "legal", but he was so abusive she didn't care. She sold mortgages for Wells Fargo for 6 yrs. then was a loan manager for 2 yrs. at the same company. In 06' she missed a immigration hearing while pregnant, and was automatically ordered for removal. After her ex found out where she was living he called ICE and they picked her up. 15 mo's. of hell ensued fighting her deportation. That ended on 7-13 of this year, when she finally got sent home (then moved to Uganda where her mother now resides as a pastor). Now I have to fight my son's deadbeat mom in California to be able to move our family to Uganda. Which we will be doing. So not only did ICE deport the "BASEBALL MOM", they are deporting this whole American family! There are many different situations that should be handled differently... This is one of them. The new guidlines just came out too late for us, but it's about time!

I like #3 Stop deporting immigrants whose only crime is crossing the border.

That's like saying it's only a post 3rd term abortion when I see them entering my country illigal....it's my ONLY CRIME...so I shouldn't have to be prosecuted right Obama? Killing is illegal, and entering our country illegal...hmmm should we stop enforcing all laws...like Obama wants? or just the ones HE wants...with no consideration for the PEOPLE or the COUNTRY...

I think the United States should implement the same laws of the Country the Illegal Immigrants came from...

Can you just imagine any other Country allowing Illegal Immigrants to actually protest for their rights. There is a reason when you go to another Country to live, that you go through the channels of becoming a Citizen.

I understand wanting a better life, and everyone deserves that. But, not at the expense of the Country or its people.

Why don't we just invite the entire third world to come to the US? The government can then confiscate your taxes and give your hard-earned dollars to the the rest of the world. Let them push you out of your schools, communities, etc. Of course, by that time, we will be bankrupt, the producers will have moved out, and all that will be left is millions of poor people with a hand out. Way to kill the goose that layed the golden egg.

I care about illegal immigration because by shear numbers it is greater than LEGAL immigration. I definately have a concern when my emergency rooms are overwhelmed by non english speakers who use the ER as their free medical facility. The hospital nearest my home closed their OB section after being overwhelmed with patients who could not afford to pay, while they were required to provide services. I am concerned when the cost of educating children of illegals is causing our schools to reduce teaching benefits for children of legal residents and citizens. I am concerned that in many towns, including the one I grew up in, it is difficult to navigate unless you speak spanish. I am concerned when the brutality of the homeland is imported and takes root in our communities. I was born and raised in California, but my mayors declare sactuary cities and invite "ALL" to come in. Things have changed here and it is not pleasant and does not feel like progress, but rather decay.

Let them dream, it is only a dream and that is all.

Two Americas:

The motivation for immigrants is not to "break the immigration laws" it is to survive.

Why would you ridicule sympathy for the most vulnerable and least powerful among us?

It is the criminality and illegality and brutality of wealthy owners in the US and their henchmen in the oppressive and brutal regimes in Latin America - funded and trained by the US government - that causes the desperation that is driving immigration into the US.

To imagine that indigenous people threatened with starvation, imprisonment, torture and murder are trying to get one over on us, or take unfair advantage of anything, or represent some dire threat to us, the workers here, is illogical to the point of absurdity. People threatened with starvation, imprisonment, torture and murder in their so-called home countries - those countries are more like plantations for US corporations than anything else - will obviously risk anything right up to starvation, imprisonment, torture and murder in order to come here and survive. Those, such as yourself, advocating police state measures in order to tip the cost-benefit balance and discourage immigrants would need to advocate starvation, imprisonment, torture and murder to make that effective. I fear that many here do harbor that sort of hostility toward immigrants, and would support virtually any sort of brutality being waged against them.

Nominate a Republican who would pass the Dream Act and Agricultural Visas and you got yourself a Republican president. You can bi*** all you want about illegals criminal or PhDs but the truth of the matter is that they can decide who is President next, very easily.
