These comments are sickening! President Obama will continue to improve this country in 2012-2016. The only people who are "resentful" are those who are still angry about the color of his skin! They'll still be whining in 2017, trust me.

Trump needs to stick to building and leasing towers. If he wants to spend mega bucks with a marketing firm to spread the Trump name, certain that he will be able to find a number of such firms willing to take his money.
The only individual in the 2012 race with a larger ego is Obama. Think that America is getting its fill with him. We do not need another egotist in the White House!

This article is a bucket of turds. No way the TRUMPET will get anywhere near presidency. Ron Paul is the voice people are hearing. Trump just scored lowest on some other news articles

Apparently, knowing how to spend a lot of money qualifies one for presidency. Knowing how to make money doesn't seem a requirement.

I think that it would be great if Donald Trump ran for president -- reminds me a bit of a Teddy Roosevelt -- brash and not afraid to speak his mind or to face the demons head-on to get the job done. The US economy is in shambles -- Trump may not be regarded as v. likeable or diplomatic enough for certain folks but he has got chutzpa. He is the iron horse in this race with a whole lot of steam behind him. If I had just one more piece of advice for him, it would be that he should make it clear that he really is a champion of the underdog in America -- not just the super rich and powerful. One thing for sure -- his election will not be bought and paid for by your blood-sucking corporations. There will be pound of flesh to be extracted from Mr. Trump unless it is on his and America's own terms -- like it or lump it -- he is no shrinking career politician but a private citizen (albeit a v well-heeled one) with enough manly courage to to call the shots the way he sees it which no doubt a true reflection of the way it really and not the way it appears to be. There are many people who are unsure or afraid of his perception of things or what he proposes and how he would go about it challenging the big oil companies or China on the issue of trade tarifs. I do get the impression that there is a huge smear campaign underway against him now but hope that he remains steadfast and vigilant and manages to rise above it all in the end. Nothing is sacred in politics or the media -- If Mr. Trump sticks to the Truth, he will emerge above all of this as a Zola-like figure. I do believe that the truth always triumps in the end, no matter how down and dirty the players in the game choose to get. Reality in its most ultimate form is far more potent and "real" than all of the mockery and mudslingery that his opponents could ever dream up. Liars and deniars can never win when the naked emperor is finally revealed. When the gig is up, America's cards will be laid face-up on the table. Those who have sold Amerivca short or sold America out will also be defrocked. The victorious crown of laurels will fall to the citizens who have stood for an inalienable truth and justice -- beyond the media-driven pulpit of political spin ---- Americans will no longer be able to afford the alternative. Go America, I am confident that sanity will prevail once this has all blown over. (for the sake of all Americans and a precious part of my family in particular that was born in the US. All the best figuring it out --I hope that the great majority of you will see the forest for the trees before it is too late. I believe from the bottom of my heart and "In God we trust") that America will finally shake itself back to its senses. God bless from a friendly neighbour above the 49th.

How can anyone take Donald Trump seriously? Just because you know how to make a lot of money does not qualify you to lead this country.

Trump's proposal to appropriate compensatory oil from Iraq is a good idea. Before him, there was no discussion whatsoever of anything other than US taxpayers being on the hook all by our lonesomes for all the debt our Iraq involvement rang up. Now there is. And that is a real game-changer, for the better.
Under that proposal, the average joe and josephine taxpayer would be elevated to member status of the current US-Iraqi military-industrial-political-banking complex that directly profits from US involvement in Iraq. We would be elevated from our previous chump-slut status as the ones who pay for it all, but don't get elected to office because of it, nor receive any lucrative government contracts to make Iraq involvement happen, nor receive any nation-building aid from which we could skim tens of millions off and redirect that to a Swiss bank account, nor write loans out of thin air to finance it all for which we receive back principal and interest -- on a taxpayer-guaranteed basis.
As Trump says, the world is ripping us off. But that doesn't happen without complicity (and duplicity) on the part of our fearless leaders. Those fearless leaders would be first Bush, now Obama wrt Iraq.
If you are for Iraq involvement, compensatory oil would be your cake's icing. If you are against Iraq involvement, compensatory oil would be your consolation prize. That's the middle ground we SHOULD reach between opposing viewpoints, wherein both viewpoints stand to gain something, rather than one viewpoint losing something to give to the other. And that middle ground is reached by expanding the constraints of the current dialogue to where we, the great unwashed taxpayers, are no longer expected to foot the ENTIRE bill for our international-in-scope M-I-P-B complex -- under the sure-as-shootin dollars for them, nebulous promises of increased security for us scenario.
Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea all have been given a free security ride to date as the result of our being the world's policeman. As that is not going to change anytime soon, our being the world's policeman, what would you rather continue to do about it in terms of financing such: Rightfully and reasonably take it out of beneficiaries Iraqi, Saudi, and South Korean hides -- at least SOME of it -- or, KEEP BORROWING THE ENTIRE S LOAD OF MONEY FROM CHINA???
Last time around in the 2008 presidential election, about 150 million people voted. Because of that one idea alone -- compensation for our military and nation-building intervention -- there are at least 1.5 TRILLION reasons to support Trump for president.
P.S.: For all the Obama snarks *hoping* that Trump will be the rep nominee, I *hope* you put your primary vote where your snark is. If it looks like your guy Obama is a lock for the dem nomination, then as your state allows it, vote instead in the rep primary -- for Trump.

He tells it like it is, and is NOT afraid to do so , like most others.
That is the most likeable aspect about Trump. He calls out Obama and his administration for the liars and incompetent dolts that they are. Trump will get the job done like it should have been done long ago, I hope he runs!

The Republicans don't want Trump for hid Presidential prospects. They want him for his money (real or imagined) and the image of the GOP as a party that includes ordinary people, who just maybe can make it into the elite of the super rich. It's a bit like having a lottery winner on board as an advert - "Hey, you too could be a millionaire if you come on board".
I can't see the Republicans supporting Trump for their Presidential candidate. He's got too many weaknesses. But he does know all the money men. Expect him to stay in the picture until the actual front runners become clear. Then watch him play kingmaker by redirecting voters and appearing in photo opportunities with another player. He'll be looked after for giving up his shot at the top job.
Yes, of course it's possible that he is dumb enough to try running as an independent. He has very real issues with his ego (as witnessed a week ago when Meyer lampooned him at the press correspondents' awards) but the GOP have plenty of people who will be up for telling him how much better it will be if he throws his support behind the eventual party choice. And there is a very real question about how much money he really has to run an independent campaign if investors start to ask if he's using their money wisely.
In short, if Trump runs for POTUS, the media satirists are going to have a field day on everything from the way he speaks to the style of his hair. Expect Tina Fey's attack on Palin in 2008 to be nothing compared to the Saturday Night Live performances that we'll see in 2012. I personally look forward to them.
