Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee slammed Academy Award-winning actress Natalie Portman for becoming pregnant out of wedlock. The potential 2012 Republican presidential candidate told conservative radio host Michael Medved earlier this week that Portman is setting a bad example and her pregnancy "gives a distorted image. It's unfortunate that we glorify and glamorize the idea of out-of-wedlock children." Huckabee also said there "aren't really a lot of single moms" out there who are "making millions of dollars" like Portman. "Most single moms are very poor, uneducated, can't get a job," Huckabee said, "and if it weren't for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death and never have healthcare." Huckabee was the favorite at the 2008 Iowa caucuses and appealed to social conservative voters.
