And another thing all those who keep saying the democrats aren't doing they job by leaving the state. They ARE they did the only thing that they could to stop walker from already stuffing his repair bill up you know where. They say the republican didnt leave when Obama shoved his bill down are throat well then who is smarter at least they are trying to give us a chance to see all what is in walkers "bill" and the things in the news aren't the only things that are going to affect all of us at any age. The ones who are retired and already payed they share sould not have to worry about they health care and their retirement they earned it. The teachers I had did their job it was me that was the problem. But the world needs ditch digger so I got a good job now. Part of the problem in schools is the teachers sould be able to disaplyn the children in stead and We have all heard it on the news the kids are hitting them and the then you see the parent standing there blaming the teacher saying the teacher did something wrong not only would my kid apologize but I WOULD SPANK THEM in front of the teacher. It's not about the person it is the respect of others and the position like teacher, Police and people in a authority. So when those teacher are trying to save our kids when something bad is going on they sould be doing it for less pay and less benefits.

if you are not looking at the whole picture and looking in to the facts your self and if you think this won't affect the whole state you are letting someone else think for you. This is going to affect every job and wage in the state. walker is setting the bar for all states. if you read all the comment here and other places where people are taking sides. there are no sides if you are looking at everything in this state and the UNITED STATES. This little side show is not the the real problem is WE THE POEPLE OF THE UNITED STATES NEED TO TAKE THIS COUNTY BACK and start firing the ones in office that are not doing the job they were voted in to office to do represent the people. We are to be the voice they are suppost to listen to not the one who pay them thought the back door or under the table.

If they won't have been spending money like sailer on leave in bancok for the last ten years or longer this would not be an issue. I am a public worker I still don't make what I made in the private sector. I do think unions are out of control yes and as a tax payer there are somethings that have to go in some of those contracts but walker is trying to take rights away from the your fellow state people thats the first thing you sould look at weather you agree or not. If you have not been watching all along with what has been going on with local or state business it is all open to the public. but like me, you go along in your own little world. Maybe voting because somebody you know or listen to swayed you to vote for somebody with out looking in to the person yourself to see if they are everything you want to represent you. I voted for walker myself with out looking in to what he did or try to do in office. No matter who it is you can figer the are not going to do anything for you. SO again it time WE THE PEOPLE TAKE BACK THIS COUNTRY STARTING WITH STATE. They say you can't touch them for a year if they can change the laws for what they want if the 5 millon people of this state say WE WANT YOU OUT, YOU ARE OUT. And i am not just talking about walker with the inter net and other way. We can keep firing to we get someone who will do the job for the people. Now don't get me wrong it has to be the good of the people and not for me,myself, and I. And proud to a wisconsinite.

We have tried to work with GOV Walker when he was Milwaukee County executive. We tried to bring a number of jobs to Milwaukee County and he would not negotiate at that time and then he removed the Economic and Community Development commission and he says he pro business. What his supporters do not understand and how it will affect them is as follows 1. Loss of private sector jobs 2. Wisconsin public utilities rates will be higher 3. Reduce Medicaid coverage 4.The middle class taxes will be raised 5. K-12 education will be even less 6.More kids will not be able to afford Higher education 7. Higher unemployment 8.Higher crime

9. Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says he campaigned on his budget repair plan, including curtailing collective bargaining he did not campaigned on this.

10. Gov Walker In arguing the changes would be modest, Walker cited the civil service system and said "collective bargaining is fully intact." However, Walker himself has outlined how his budget-repair bill would limit the collective bargaining rights of public employees. To now say now say collective bargaining would remain "fully intact" is not just false, it’s ridiculously false.

11. Walker said 98 percent of small businesses "will be eligible" for job-creating tax relief under his emergency plan to jump-start the lagging Wisconsin economy. Many businesses under the $500,000 threshold would be eligible to apply for a tax credit. They may all be eligible to apply, but many won’t qualify for a tax credit Walker’s claim is False.

Walker has shown mismanagement when he was County executive at the Milwaukee County Call Center only 5 percent of the calls were ever answered and 70 percent were handled within the period required by law costing taxpayers $74,500 in fines.

The lack negotiations that has been shown by Walker just adds to the mismanagement and lack of communication with and knowledge of those he represents.

Gov Walker is all about Gov Walker

I just want to restate a phrase from the previous comment. "IF YOU THINK THAT TAKING MONEY FROM THE POOR WILL SOLVE THIS PROBLEM, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!!

I can not sit by and let the hard work of the men and women that formed unions to force the commerce giants of their times to provide a living wage, pension, and health insurance, be destroyed by greedy people. Support Unions, they set the wage for both Union and Non Union workers. Through collective bargaining we have a chance. If we give all the power to the ones with all the money, are you willing to trust them to do the right thing. Not Me. Reganomics hasn't worked for me. Has it worked for you? If so share the wealth.

I don't think any reasonable human could even pretend to support Gov. Walker. It's not even a political thing... it's the same as, how could any reasonable human even pretend to support Celebrity Blago?

After that phone call, that is literal PROOF that this is only a power play. You don't even have to look at 'dem scary facts like, budget cuts have been agreed to and this is now ONLY about collective bargaining. And trust me, I'm not a union shill. I think unions as a whole have become corrupt and we need unions to protect us from the unions. Just the fact that often if you're in a union you may not be able to do non-union jobs, or that you are forced to join in certain cases, there's a lot of corruption there. But simply busting the unions apart isn't a solution, and in fact it's a step backwards.

I find it mystifying, as an American, as to how many of my countrymen and women have bought into the lie that the struggle of America is big government vs. small government. It's not. Both major parties in the US want big government, and they just haggle over exactly what that big government should have BIG power over. In many ways the supposed "small" government teabaggers actually are advocating for bigger government. What people don't get is that what is most important in America is checks and balances. That's our most important American ideal. The idea that no entity becomes so big that nobody can check them, nobody can tell them "no." The ideal America is an America where a citizen has MORE rights than any other entity. A citizen should have more rights than a mega corporation, or a government office, or what have you. But they don't.

America's middle class is at war, and it's at war with big corporations and people who seek to help big corporations have fewer and fewer checks and balances. America is an oligarchy and it only becomes more so with recent actions. The unions may be deeply flawed, but it's only because they need to be checked... get rid of them, and then the things they're meant to protect, those go out the window. This is how you lose freedom people. One step at a time, all in the name of "freedom." But remember, checks and balances. Corporations being free to do what they want is not true freedom, because citizens are more important than all else.

I have been listening to Scott Walker say that everyone needs to share in the pain of this depression. His supporters have said the same. I agree let us share the pain of this depression with those unefected so far by this recession. Let us not cut medicaid, pensions, wages of people who are already struggling to survive. Let us all include the wealthy, fed by silver spoons, living off the money that was given to them by their hard working fathers or mothers. Let's include those people. If you think that taking money from the poor will solve this problem, you are the problem. Let's include the people who make more than enough to support three or four households. Allow the commerce giants to provide a living wage, a living pension, and a living insurance package to their employees. I am worth this. Are you?

Why don't republicans (I shouldn't insult all republicans here-don't even believe in bi-partisanship)-or Walker advocates present FACTS? All I hear are facts from the left. What is going on here? Are all Walker supporters dumb and preoccupied with an inflated sense of power? Please prove me wrong.

Dear Angelina,

With all due respect, talking to one teacher does not make the information true, number one.

Number two, perhaps you have missed the headlines about how teachers and nurses, and other public employees are WILLING to take the cuts in benefits and pension in order to maintain collective bargaining. (which will allow nurses to not work extra long hours and risk medical malpractice, it will allow students to be in reasonably sized classrooms etc., and it will encourage highly educated people to take jobs in high need positions)

Number three, what do you suppose will happen to the PRIVATE sector when so many public employees are no longer able to afford their current cost of living? When they are no longer able to go out and spend their pay check in local economies?

Number four, I probably shouldn't even be responding to you due to your anger towards teachers(and your ignorance)-just because YOUR teachers weren't able to encourage you to pursue things like researching facts etc., doesn't mean we are ALL useless. I dare you to imagine a world where teachers are not respected or paid fairly. We could turn into the likes of a third world country.

It does not help your cause to sound so angry and ignorant. Please consider multiple perspectives or at least facts before spouting your thoughts all over the internet. As an educator, I love hearing all perspectives, when based in concrete knowledge. I would love to hear why you think collective bargaining should be off the table and how cutting 1 billioin dollars in education is going to help our economy.

Cheers!

Ms. M

Mr Mann is an ignoramus who is intellectually challenged because he obviously did not listen to what Walker said nor to what analysts have reported.

Mr. Mann, unfortunately must have had some teachers who got their tenure and stopped teaching for the the benefit of the kids, but rather just for the BENEFITS.
