No one, whether you like him or not, could despute the courage, integrity and character of this great American. The only disappointment for me, one who has followed and encouraged everything he has done, read most of his books many times, was disappointed to see him in the democrat party. For someone like a Reid to comment on Jim Webb suggesting he is aligned with him is an outrage.

This event, combined with yesterday's announcement that the Democrat leadership Council is closing its doors, is the final nail in the coffin of any pretence that there are credible "moderates" in the democ-rat Party. Those who survived the 2010 election are being marginalized by San Fran Nan and Dirty Harry. If they bother to run for reelection, their sole reason for being will be to collect a check. If they were serious about keeping Federal taxes low and cutting "investments," (a fancy word for big spending) they woud cross the aisle.

It's time for them to go!

He wrote a book on "pubic policy"? Why is this the first we're hearing about this? :)

Of course, why pass on taking an uniformed and misguided slam on Democrats? That over 80% of our national debt is a result of Republican administrations seems to have alluded you, and now those very same Republicans are going to be the saviors. They created the problem. We fought a war over lies and personal vendettas, mortgaged the futures of multiple generations to follow, but you see nothing wrong with that? That most of the deficit went to funding corporate welfare and gifts to the top 1% of the income earners doesn't bother you? Integrity? Where's the integrity in taking advantage of over 98% of our country's citizens for the sake of a very select few, which your Republican party is so blatantly continuing to do today? And yet you follow........sad, how very sad for you and what this does to our country.

Jim Webb would be Good Secretary of Defense. Webb would be one of the best possible replacements for Gates as the next Secretary of Defense. Maybe its already in the works and that's why he's not even bothering to go through the motions of campaigning.

Webb has the experience in the military and as Secretary of the Navy, and he is grounded in the experience of being an elected official. As a Blue dog Dem he's conservative enough, and he's surprisingly literate and able to communicate well. I'm guessing he has the stomach to cut the defense spending that's bankrupting this country.

Webb For Secretary of Defense!!

.It must be difficult with for a man of his integrity to serve with the democrats. I wish him the best.
