President George W. Bush's daughter Barbara endorsed same sex marriage in a video released Tuesday by the Human Rights Campaign. The online video is part of the HRC's "New Yorkers for Marriage Equality" campaign, and features several prominent figures, from Robert F. Kennedy Jr., to NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, speaking out in support of gay marriage. "New York is about fairness and equality and everyone should have the right to marry the person that they love," says the former first daughter in the video. As president, Bush pushed for an amendment to ban same sex marriage.

Same sex marriage isn't just about two people of the same gender marrying each other. It's about the equality that gays and lesbians should be afforded in a country that bases it's values on the statement "All Men Are Created Equal." Gays and Lesbians should be allowed to marry the person they love regardless of the gender. But by denying them that right, society is hypocritical.

Now as for those that say it's wrong because God says it is wrong. Please let everyone know exactly where in the bible it states that man can not marry another man or a woman can not marry another woman. As far as I know, there is no place in the bible in which that is stated.

So unless there is another reason (other than the normal biblical reason) that two individuals shouldn't be allowed to marry because they are the same sex, then the time for change is now. Society needs to cease being hipocritical and realize that "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL" regardless of their gender, and who they love and want to marry.

doesn't matter what she thinks, doesn't matter what I think. What matters is GOD, and what He ordains. Ultimately He has the last Word. And His Word endures forever.

BRAVO! Someone who isn't afraid to believe and say what they feel!

I honestly don't understand the big deal anyway. I mean honestly how great or successful are straight marriages now anyway? They are really pretty crappy right now but if people have some warped image of how great they are still then maybe they should look at what THEY call marriage and work on their own issues. Or are they really afraid the gay marriages will make there's look even more pitiful?

Because from what I see the "marriages" now are really quite sad and pitiful. So instead of focusing on how "gays" or anyone else's marriage will somehow ruin yours (which makes absolutely no sense anyway) why not look at the real problem? YOUR OWN MARRIAGE AND/OR ISSUES! If all the "marriage threatened" people would stop focusing on what everyone else is doing then there would be no problem.
