University Says 'No' to Bristol Palin Speech

After a wave of student protests, the Washington University in St. Louis cancelled an appearance by Bristol Palin on campus. Palin had been slated to speak about teen pregnancy and abstinence on a panel during the school's Student Sexual Responsibility Week. The 20-year-old Palin, whose own teen pregnancy became a national issue during her mother's 2008 vice presidential run, had been invited by the student health advisory committee. But students protested, arguing they didn't want to pay for Palin to speak using student funds. The Washington University College Democrats created a Facebook page to encourage students to protest Palin's speaking engagement, stating, "The Democrats and our friends, liberals, Republicans, and abstinent individuals alike, believe this is an irresponsible use of Washington University resources..."

Dee, I understand your support for Birstol Palin wrt bringing up her baby as a single mom. But (1) No one forced her to have a baby when she couldn't afford it or was mentally immature (basically a kid herself). My question is, what was her mom doing? For all their invoking of 'God', I can't understand how Sarah Palin allows her kids to speak or behave the way they do. Is this being 'pro-life'? Messing up kids' lives by bringing them into this world when you don't have time for them and use them to your benefit? (2) Bristol Palin is NOT bringing up the baby herself. She and her family have enough resources! And please.... to PAY her, for speaking about ABSTINENCE??? I think its a bit too late for her to be talking about abstinence. I don't really blame the kid, but what message does Bristol Palin's pregnancy send to other to-be teenaged moms? "I can do it, so can you"? Why Bristol and why not someone who's really been through struggles and made it on her own terms? I am sure America doesn't lack in those women. And I am sure they are better speakers too. So, yes, why waste funding on characters such as the Palins???

I do agree that the uneducated Palins are trying to make as much $$ as they can. This whole family is shameless. Trach Palin aressted for breaking school bus lines, HAD to join the military or go to Jail. Willow Palin aressted for vandalizing a home, Bristol unwed and uneducated. Youngest daughter flunked her grade and poor Trip never sees his mother. Palin has failed her family greatly. Levi's mom in jail for drugs, Levu poses nude, Toad has a DUI and his sister in jail for breaking and entering and found with drugs. Now little sister of Levi posing nude. Yep, this is white TRASH, I do agree. Thank you Washington U. for stopping the Palin nonsense. The Palins are shameless.

Bristol Palin like her mother are uneducated. They have not accomplised much in life. Sarah Palin has a dysfunctional family with no values. Both of them are trolling for $$ and I applaud Washington U. to not have Palin speak. I would never support this school if they waste money by having such a unqualified person speak. Sarah Palin is mean, polarizing, lies, has nothing to contribute but nonsense. Palin is white trash.
