Together with all those around me who voted for Obama and the Democrats, we are stunned that no reply came from the fist family and their White House team and those in Congress that we alerted regarding our recommendations for the creation of a U.S.Dept.of Youth or Youth & Sports. Most countries have, the poor ones included, how come we are so behind? Especially that this idea is exactly about the very Youth who voted for Obama and the change he promised and is considered "brilliant" just about everybody!
Who knows, maybe now that the Republicans, having won the House, will do it just in spite! Ultimately, the American Youth especially, is the loser due to the political shenanigans we're going through these days.
We are extremely sorry and disappointed of this status of affairs which landed us to be 37th in education within the global community! More than ever, it shows that the American Dream is about to disappear while the United States has become a crude reality.
It seems that we are losing the War on Ignorance and yes, we do pray and hope for the best, but whose best? The very wealthy??? Those who claim tax cuts come what may, never mind if they annihilate the social advances this country is famous for? Who needs police protection, since the rich can hire private guards? Or health benefits, since the rich can pay for private expensive care? Let alone the elderly poor barely surviving on a mere $1,200 monthly per couple?
What happened to the effervescent American people who took to the streets
during the right to vote struggle and the Martin Luther King era? Do we need an eminent disaster for us to unite like during WW-II or 9/11? We certainly coul do better without the following paranoia still persistent and transmitted to our kids and we complain about the extremists' outlandish behavior? Let alone about the religion infiltration within the State affairs? No wonder people ask "At What Price Our Civilization?" while others ask WHAT CIVILIZATION?
