SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Republican Senate candidate Carly Fiorina is hospitalized for a second day, keeping her off the campaign trail as she battles an infection associated with reconstructive surgery after breast cancer
The former Hewlett-Packard Co. chief executive is in a Los Angeles-area hospital Wednesday, one day after she was admitted.
Supporters will take her place at a scheduled afternoon campaign stop in San Diego.
Fiorina, who is 56, was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2009 before she formally announced her run against Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer. She completed chemotherapy and radiation treatments a year ago and had reconstructive surgery in July after having a double mastectomy.
Her campaign would not release the name of the hospital for security reasons.
