Connolly did an excellent job of leading Fairfax County for a long time into the number one spot in every measurable area. He had the courage to move to fix a broken health care system. He has voted time and time again to support the troops both on the battlefield and in their life back home. Currently the Stock Market is in great shape, employment is moving up, corporate profits are up, government loans supported by both parties are being paid back, lending rates are at historic lows, millions without healthcare are now moving to get coverage. Gasoline is no longer $4 a gallon, people everywhere are making choices to buy green.
Great job Gerry.

They just never seem happy. Clinton left the Presidency and the country's budget in the black. Bush left the country deeply in debt and on the verge of another Great Depression and yet what do I hear-"they want fiscal moderates and a balanced budget". So why are they voting republican again?

The Washington Post endorsed Gerald Connolly in VA's 11th and probably put at least one nail in his political coffin. The Post said the main reason to vote for Connolly is because he is a "fiscal moderate." Not even a far leftie would say that anything done by this Congress and this White House comes anywhere near moderate. Voting for $3 trillion over and above what was taken in in the last 18 months is not just immoderate, it's insane. The Post also says that Fimian, whose campaign theme is putting certainty back into the market to promote job creation by setting tax rates and lowering cap gains taxes, is extreme. One wants to think that whoever wrote the article just mixed up the metaphors, otherwise the endorsement makes no sense. The Dems are losing women for just this fact. Women are worrying about what all this means for their children and grandchildren and consequently will vote for
Fimian in this district and Republicans right across the country. I've been watching the thoroughly inexplicable French riot over upping the retirement age from 60 to 62. I am particularly interested in the young who are rioting, much like the young who are flocking to see Obama. How could they be so dense as to not understand they will have much less opportunity and freedom if these programs stay in place as they are the ones who will be required to pay for them all. The Union leaders and political leaders like Gerald Connolly and the troika Obama, Reid, Pelosi are basking in the young support while selling them down the river. And, that's what makes me really angry.

Real Clear Politics recently changed this race from toss-up to leans Republican. It's too late for Harry Mitchell in Arizona's CD5, early ballots already started arriving, and 70% of the electorate here votes early ballot, with most of them returning them immediately. He's spent millions in the past few weeks but can't get any traction, can't get close to the 50% in polls needed for an incumbent. He votes with Pelosi and the Obama administration and ignores the nonstop Tea Party protests outside his office, he doesn’t represent his Republican-leaning district. He is completely bought and paid for by the unions
ocale=english-skin-custom) Various groups on the right are pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into the race to help Schweikert, including the NRCC and the 60 Plus Association. It's a majority Republican district, and used to be held by JD Hayworth. The voters are angry at the big-spending Democrats this year. Republicans are expected to gain back at least 35 seats this year and this is considered one of them.
