Do Sarah Palin and President Obama have anything in common? You betcha.
The Tea Party darling and frequent critic of the President are actually cousins, albeit, 10th cousins, according to a report on Ancestry.com.
Palin is not the only Obama basher related to the commander in chief. Conservative shock jock Rush Limbaugh is, too.
Limbaugh and Obama are also 10th cousins, once removed.
The ties the two GOP cheerleaders share with the President stem from two very different 17th-century men, a genealogist with the website told The Associated Press.
Palin and Obama are connected through John Smith, a pastor and settler in Massachusetts.
"Smith was against the persecution of the Quakers," Anastasia Tyler of Ancestry.com said. "He was a very socially conscious man."
President George W. Bush is related to Palin and Obama, too, through Samuel Hinckley, who was John Smith's father-in-law.
As for Obama's link to Limbaugh, Richmond Terrell was a prominent land baron in Virginia whose history, Tyler said, "is a little more nebulous."
"Despite political differences, they do have similarities," Tyler told Bloomberg. "We are all tied together; we are all part of America."
In the past, Ancestry.com revealed that billionaire Obama backer Warren Buffett is related to the President. Obama also can claim a link to actor Brad Pitt and former Vice President Dick Cheney.
"We are always looking for ways to show how interesting family history can be," Tyler said.
