You must and should understand that the people responsible for slaughtering thousands of innocent people on 9/11 were NOT the people who own and run porn shops and other unsavory establishments. If you lost a loved one at that sacred site, you would point your finger at the very people who were responsible for that sickening deed. And thus, we must look toward the MUSLIMS!!!

Pat Condell is a British stand-up comedian, but this video isn't comic, it's pure truth, and it's utterly brilliant. Watch it.

Those who are bashing Americans for not wanting a Mosque near ground zero are more seemingly anti-american.If you think Islam is a religion of peace, you are an idiot. The degraded way in women are treated tells the story of the mindset of Islam. It is total disrespect for this entire nation to decide to build at ground zero.Letting anything into this nation is not what America is built on.You think there is actually religious freedom ion America? The very people who claim this are too often against Christianity. While the national day of prayer is cancelled, and every move possible is made to stifle the Christian voice, you claim religious freedom.Your enemy will smile at you and slit your throat at the same time.Study Islam first, then decide

Don't you know there were people of all faithes that died at the WTC site including muslims. I would take a community center and a mosque around the WTC instead of porn shops and brothels. Peace!

NIMBY, or Not In My Backyard has been slammed for years by the so-called liberals (actually Leftists/Socialists) in America. Well, for once at least the NIMBY folks are right, and for the right reasons. Anyone who thinks that Islam is a religion of peace might wish to buy the nearby Brooklyn Bridge! Bottom line, approx. 71% of New Yorkers oppose the LOCATION of this mosque, period. So for you folks living elsewhere, just go away. We don't need your opinions about a tragedy that you luckily missed. Adios.

Could this be just another warehouse for weapons when the final attack is made in New York City??

Frankly it doesn't seem to make any difference to radical Muslims. If, &when, they can do damage to Christians or any other people that do not agree with their "extreme" positions, they are going to strike. As long as we are a free country, we should act like a free country. Our laws permit an independent land owner to rent, lease or sell his property to whomever he wishes with no restrain except outstanding liens against that property.

Let's not forget that many Muslims were victims of the terrorists on 9/11, on that day when we were "all New Yorkers". Apparently not so any more. So, saying that Muslims should be "sensitive" and respect the wishes of those who do not want Park51 built is a bit ludicrous -- what of the Muslim victims and their families and friends? Clearly this is a controversial issue, but it is also controversial to equate Muslim and Mosques with terrorists and places for recruiting terrorists. That is exactly what the terrorists want the US and its allies to do -- amazing how some are playing into their hands quite nicely.

Restricting the rights of some based on their religion or culture is one of the reasons this country was founded -- ironic that so many now want to restrict Muslims' constitutional rights and blame them for the actions of a few fundamentalist terrorists.

The purpose of this mosque at this site is 'SUPPOSEDLY" to foster better relations with other religions and ethnics groups.

At the same time we have some anonymous 'counter terrorism specialist' telling us that opposing this mosque will make 'moderate' muslims hate us more.

Third, the opponents of the mosque are portrayed as xenophobic, Islamofacists for wanting not to have a mosque built on the grave site of thousands of Americans (including muslims) who were killed by islamic terrorists.

Has anyone really said that muslims don't have a right to their religious beliefs? I think not.

Has anyone told muslims that they can't build mosques in NYC or anywhere else in this country? I think not.

Has the author of this article pointed out that maybe the muslims involved in this venture should be concerned about the wishes of the "fellow" Americans and recognize the sensitivity surrounding this site? I think not.

Will anything we do including capitulation endear us to the muslim world? I think not.

Is there any indication on the part of the liberal elite that understanding and compromise is a two-way street? I think not.

With an apparent strategy of shouting racism about anyone and everyone who disagrees with this muslim affront, who questions their motives or expresses dismay at their total lack of concern or respect for the 70% of Americans (including muslims) who don't want this monument to islamic triumph, should we really care about the validity of the term 'racist'? I think not.

Freedom comes with responsibilities. Freedoms have limits. Freedoms without limits is anarchy and lawlessness.
