Mr. President,
I am a 53-year-old man and have worked ever since I was 14. This is the FIRST time I have ever been without a job and it has created more anxiety and depression then you could ever know. I DON'T WANT to be on UNEMPLOYMENT, I WANT to WORK, but with this recession?? I can't and haven't been able to find a job. Even Burger King and MacDonald’s have had an onslaught of applications; I know this first hand because I have even applied to them. I have been in the IT field as a Desktop Support Technician for 20 years and have even dropped my asking pay to $10.00 PH (A third of what I should get in pay). AMERICANS don't want to be on UNEMPLOYMENT, there is no pride in that; they are loosing their houses, cars and having very stressful family situations because of this (RECESSION??)
That 700 Billion Dollars you signed over to Big Business and Banks could have helped so many American Families, instead they squandered it, I would personally know how and where they spent this money, the American people should have access the this information and then BOYCOTT them, let them fail like you have failed so many American Family's during your administration!!!
It is easy for people that have a job to say you can find a job if you really want to, YEAH RIGHT. I am hoping that the emergency unemployment comes through so I can at least keep my phone alive for contact for employment offers. I've had to chose between Medication or food as I made $20.00 to much for Food Stamps, thank goodness for the Food Banks, which makes you feel even more depressed depending upon the gratitude of others.
Fortunately I have been able to stay with some family and friends for short periods of time, fearing I will over stay my welcome with them. PLEASE GET THIS ECONOMY GOING AGAIN AND GIVE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE THIER PRIDE BACK, stop protecting big business and start serving the American People like you promised during your election!!!

Hello president iam a Twenty Six year old woman i have been out of work for a while i had my unpolyment going but then it stop they said that I wasent able to get anymore Extension time because i have Recived all my Extension time but the lady also told me that i could be able to still get it though.
Iam praying and hopeing that Iam one of the people that can get it President because it was really a big help to me those checks comeing in every two weeks its hard right know and i need the help alot of jobs are not Hiring everytime i call diffrent places they say No we Not Hiring and i get a Little disapointed sometimes plz pray for me that i will find a job that is hiring. What kind of brain dead republican would say that. It is hard to understand those who have never stood in line looking for work in this climate could say such harsh things like there is plenty of jobs out there. Are you kidding. The job pool us full and flowing over with 6 applicants to every job out there including Mc Donalds. How foolish to make statements like that. Until you are in this situation how can you know. Until I was layed off I had no idea how hard it would be to find work. I have worked all my life 46 of the 62 years I have been on the planet. Never once did I ask for a dime in all those years. When my country called on me I did not hesitate I inlisted in the Navy and now when I need my country it turns its back on me and so many others out there who through no fault of their own lost a job. And I was a card carrying republican for over 30 years. Until that is when watching C-Span and the senate debate the extension for the last few months if found out just how heartless they really are in the GOP. I saw senator after senator on the democratic side get up and read letters from folks in their districts and not one republican senator read even one letter, not one. Doe's that imply no republican lost a job. I doubt that. But they could not bring themselves to read even one of the letters they surly got. Think about it folks its not that hard to understand the GOP couldn't care less about the working class in this country. And it shows. Thats why I changed my registration to democratic a few months ago. The dems are not that great either but at least the democratic senators had guts to speak up for the less fortunate thats a hell of alot more than I can say for the GOP.

You may not agree with me, but does calling republicans names advance the debate? Maybe I was a bit harsh stating that most unemployment recipients are lazy, but I have witnessed first hand people passing up jobs because the pay was similar to their unemployment benefit.
