As I recall, Byrd knelt in the Senate as if patting the floor and said that if the Republic or Constitution were ever destroyed, it wouid happen there. He seems to have been a wizard with words, and he does leave a legacy of being a gentleman. Contrast that with the kind of language Palin used, when she likened opponents Hitler. We have other fine lawmakers, and Barney Frank is one of my favorites. i'm glad so many people were able to come by to show respect.
