I agree that the polls cannot be trusted. I truly believe Obama is far more unpopular than any of the polls indicate. I am a small business owner who interacts constantly with other small businessmen around the country. These people are my customers and my vendors from California to Florida. To the last man and woman, they are all livid about Obama's policies.

I agree November's a long way off.

As long as the enthusiasm is just divisive attacks, this kind of vigor won't last. Its typical macho crap ... and it won't hold up under a cold shower.

The nasty nature of the rightwing enthusiasm for Republicans has been singing to the choir and attracting LaRouche libertarians. They might have some success getting back some of the republicans who voted for Obama in the last election, but not many else.

The harder righties try to stir up more frenzy the worse that enthusiasm will prove to be a liability for the gop, like the artificial Sherrod controversy and alienating minorities complaining about immigration.

If only Republicans actually offered some constructive policies instead of tearing don the country and dividing the people, they might have some impact in the mid-terms.

Chelene Nightingale for governor AIp IS OUT TO DESTROY THE REPUBLICAN VOTE. A vote for this conspiracy theory twit will result in a WIN FOR JERRY BROWN A DEMOCRAT. Around this time in 1980, Jimmy Carter was a sure bet to be reelected. This far before the Dem. Convention in 2008, Hilary Clinton was a lock. 24 hours before the New Hampshire and Nevada primaries, she was also a lock.

The polls tell us too little to be taken this importantly. They do serve, to some extent, as a measure of the national pulse. But polls now shouldn't be taken too seriously.

I would predict the so-called democratic "Rock of Gibraltar" will break up and crash into the sea come November.

It's for sure and for certain!

News just in Chelene Nightingale for governor 2010 AIP has BEEN DENIED the use of the AIP party label on the November ballot. Nightingale was a hostile candidate that rufused to follow the AIP protocol lied about her bankruptcy and foreclosure and many unethical issues appalled by the AIP executive committee.

Polls show voter dissatisfaction and, more importantly, among independents, where competitive districts and purple state Senate and Presidential elections are won or lost. One party has the House, Senate and Executive. With that power, and especially 60 Senate votes, comes responsibility. We all know, or think we know, who to blame for unsolved problems, no matter who or what caused them. With the large disparity in relative enthusiasm for voting between the major parties, it all portends another watershed election, like 1994 and 2006.

The administration said the stimulus was necessary and urgent:

Unemployment is at 9.5 percent, even though the White House predicted in

January that with the stimulus bill, it would rise to only about 8 percent.

     http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=106397685

We may not see it that low, though, for another 8-10 years, if ever:

Vice President Joe Biden gave a stark assessment of the economy today, telling an

audience of supporters, "there's no possibility to restore 8 million jobs lost in the

     Great Recession."

Huge increases in government spending are ahead. The level of indebtedness, public and private, is enormous. The whole economy has slowed.

We are not out of Guantanamo or Iraq. Afghanistan is chaotic. The Big Leak continues. Worse, the spill has been allowed to befoul ecologically and economically vital marshes, fisheries, beaches, coastal waters and large parts of the Gulf. No end is in sight.

The government owns major parts of corporate America it never used to own. It is set to enter citizens' lives via healthcare in ways and to an extent unprecedented here. Polls show all this to be unpopular.

Wall Street was bailed out but not Main Street. Millions have lost homes. The next year is forecast worse for foreclosures. Many foresee a commercial real estate price collapse. Stock and other investments have fared poorly for many. Immense pension funding shortfalls loom for States, counties and cities. Social Security and Medicare unfunded liabilities will ruin the country if drastic changes go unmade. Taxes are rising. Government says inflation is no problem, but most folks experience cost of living increases.

Some in this administration have been shown to be far to one side of the political spectrum. Many had believed claims this was to be the first post-partisan administration. Where are adults who will simply take responsibility, get things done and not finger-point?

Cynicism and hyper-partisanship have increased. Can anyone be surprised the dogs don't like their food? The anger, misplaced or not, has nevertheless been placed. It is a commonplace that a week can be an eternity in politics, so predictions at this point may be made foolish by events to come: placement of blame may change. Even so, it now appears this November's outcome is set as to the winning side, with only the margin in doubt.

When taxes are used to run a project, it becomes socialistic. Our mlitary is l00% socialistic because it's public property. We taxpayers own everything in the military. Its active members & dependents have had tax-paid SOCIALIZED MEDICINE for a very long time. Congress has socialized medicine. We do the same for chaplains. We pay & retire them at the highest rate of pay at officer rank. Yes, there is much confusion. I recall being abroad in the l970's. A retired military officer was criticizing socialism. Then he bragged about the wonderful medical care he got from one of great vet hospitals, that one was in Germany. Five others agreed with him that "socialism is bad." Capitalism is not the best economic system. We should have tax=paid free sex education, contraception, voluntary sterilization & abortion. That is the best way to stop producing more people than jobs. NOBODY can create enough jobs when there is no population control. Ban-Abortionists increase unemployment and misery.
