How Disgusting to kill American families who are frantically looking for jobs! I am a hard worker who has worked and worked and worked since I was 15 years old. I got laid off along with 1/2 the company I worked for, for 4 years. Now I am being punished and could lose everything. For every year I have not voted I am SORRY! Going forward I will be voting FOR THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY! Republican senate - stop hurting our freedoms. We are the American people and we demand help!!!!

The republican’s weren’t worried about the deficit when that big insurance company and their friends the Wall Street execs were giving themselves bonuses with taxpayer money!!! Next election – let Congress feel the sting of the unemployment lines!!! – How many years have you paid taxes? 30? 40? Your government bails out bankers and Wallstreet execs using your tax dollars – but unemployment is allowed to expire? What happened to "by the people" or "for the people"? Or are the big campaign contributors the only "people" who count to congress? They are playing games AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME while you are wondering how to feed your kids? Figure it out! Malfeasance – Failure of a public official to perform their duties!!! Next Election MAKE YOURSELF MATTER BY VOTING!!! 10% unemployment carries 10% of the vote! Use it!! Fire them all next election or recall every Congress member NOW for Malfeasance – Failure of a public official to perform their duties!!! Next Election - Lets get people elected who actually represent tall the People- this current congress represents only special interest groups!

Just for your information, unemployment taxes are paid by the employer and are not deducted from your paycheck. When an employee leaves an employer and collects unemployment that raises the employers unemployment tax rate. The result is that it costs the employer more in unemployment taxes for every employee they have. A significant disincentive for an employer to hire.

LA of MI 12:50PM June 23, 2010

Unemployment, that is the issue right ? Not the southern borders being opened up to free labor that 'some American' who probably knows many that are unemployed, but wants to save a few bucks has hired ?

Not a mess that was building with China and decades before Obama took office ? Not a Government that blindly looked the other way for decades, while, their fat cat friends got fatter -somehow ?! LoL

But Unemployment, now wait isn't that the fund I've been paying into for over 30 years? Isn't that that big glob that is subtracted from every working person's check from the first ice cream scoop they serve at 16, to the day they retire at 76 ? If 'THAT" money, like pensions, and retirement funds, etc...that have been government mis-managed or looked at, as the big cherry pot of FREE money that government spends for whenever or whatever. If it hadn't gone toward congress voting themselves a salary increase or towards so much mis-managing, embezzling, plain old theft in office, under the guise of all sorts of things, while 'some' looked the other way, cause maybe it was an election year, and we don't want to make waves... Seems they too, want to keep a job? Maybe if 'THAT" money,a weekly desposit that increased as I moved from job to better job, had been say in my savings account earning a meager 2%, over 30, 40, 50, 60 years, I'd be a very happy camper, whether employed or not. Wouldn't you say?!

What many fail to realize, accept or state, 'THAT" is OUR MONEY" ! It's not a freebie !! Congress and Senate act as though they are doing someone a favor by allowing, quite frankly for us to have a roof over our head or eat tomorrow take care of our families or be ill and yet able to see a doctor with money that belongs to the Unemployed !!!

Good, if you are successfully self-employed. But a choice to be self or publically employed isn't an issue. I worked for a company, quite frankly anywhere from 12 - 20 hours a day, 6-7 days a week, I was in the top 10% of my company, but not even close in the top 70% of pay, and guess what - still got laid off !

And welfare, hmmm..seems as an Employed person, I got taxed for that too, and yet many Americans are joining the band wagon of Us ( employed) against them (Unemployed). Acting as though it's a lifetime choice instead of a temporary situation, one where we all should realize, the tides could turn for ANYONE tomorrow, typically with no fault of their own.

People have talked about China, taking responsibility, not wanting to have their children's children paying, however, this situation wasn't created overnight, it's already something that the children of children are paying for, it's not necessarily all financial, but a mode of thinking, and spending that is, I believe, embedded in the fiber of many Americans created decades ago, and materializing today. Time to pay up folks.

We are all in this together. One issue at a time, and the issue is - the GRAND RIP-OFF THAT IS YOUR UNEMPLOYMENT TAX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is almost unbelievable that no matter whats read or heard about congress depends on re-election. If thats why they entered theyre pitiful and not what is needed. Many times we have heard about the stimulus it has'nt worked wont work. But extending unemployeement is not the answer.

It appears as if the Adm. wants to go back to earlier times lets open up some more welfare counters to. Thats not what is needed though it makes everyone dependent on the Fed its rediculous.

Stop adding burdens to the private sector and let it grow. Taxing just moves the jobs away. Congress spending money on projects that states should pay for.

Jobs will not come back under this congress the attitude to spend to fix needs to be suppressed its like a kid with his first credit card or check book. Even when the balance is $0.00 he thinks but I still have checks must still have money.

Get to work get them to work congress is absolutley unable to handle any major problems. What are you their for.

If we let some of the dead weight jobs in the Fed Govt go not by retiring but geting those who dont work dismissed it would probably be enough to assist the unemployed. Explain to me why every one in cong has a political advisor, polsters who pays that.

I fill bad for all unemloyeed or under employed but thier has to be a point of Enough now its already over a year. Fix the problem and quit trying to make a welfare state.

This unemployment mess is just another part of the liberal agenda to be in complete control of your lives. You are fast becomming totaly dependant on government for a job or money. You already have become dependant on them for your health care, you just don't know it yet. Our southern borders have been left open so cheap labor can come here and take your jobs away. How many tech jobs have gone to India etc. Manufacturing moved overseas by Clintons administration policies. Now Obama will push his "Cap and Trade" read CAP AND TAX untill there are no jobs available. It has gotten so bad that China is now our biggest lender, if they cut us off we have no where to go to borrow money to pay for anything, and China knows it. You can get your extended benefits, if China will lend us the money, makes no difference what Congress votes-there just isn't any money to pay you. Where is all the money supposed to come from. I thought all the Obama bail outs were supposed to solve our ecnomic problems, and put you all back to work, at least that is what he and Pelosi indicated. How is ObamaCare working out for you? All your medical needs being met? At least you don't have to worry about that while unemployed. Just ask the people of Mass. how their universal health care is working out. Obama has solved the forclosure mess so you won't lose your homes, you can get reduced long term mortgage payment reductions just by going to your lender, right? OOOps that didn't quite work out either did it? Are you starting to get the picture, we are broke and the government is to blame and they can't fix it. It is up to you, the American people to fix it.

I started my own small business several years ago. I am self-employed and will get no unemployment benies if my business should fail. I have no WII game,my vehicles are all over 8 yrs old, my tv is over 10. I am not working everyday, but I also am not spending everything I make on non-necessities. Our society has become a me first mess. So now why don't you take care of yourselves first. Why should I be bailing you out who spent all they made with no thought towards the future. I have bailed out the auto industry, insurance companies, banks, savings institutions, and God only knows what else Obama may want to save due to a lack of his ability to govern. There would be millions of jobs available to you all if our southern borders were not wide open to anyone who wanted to come here and take jobs away from legal American citizens. I'll bet there are many of you who would now take that "job that americans don't want" if given the oportunity. Unfortunately Obama has taken that oportunity away from you by refusing to enforce the laws he has sworn to uphold. I hope all of you are happy with your elected President. I can't save any more of you. Take responsibility for your selves, I can no longer do it. I also do not believe it is fair to expect our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildrens' children to pay your way either. Good luck and God bless you all.

The republicans came up with a way to extend UE but the Dems said that money was for their other projects. It goes both ways, keep in mind 12 Dems crossed the line to say no. It's shameful that they are so worried about keping their jobs, they forgot to do them. I have emailed 6 sanators this week and will keep emailing more everyday so they know our stories. I am a single mom who went from $55,000 a year to uunemployment which is less than half. Now I am getting nothing. Write your reps and other state reps, let them hear the facts!
