LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Former President Bill Clinton is backing Chad Causey's bid for the Democratic nomination for an east Arkansas congressional seat.

Causey's campaign on Wednesday released a radio ad featuring Clinton endorsing Causey's bid for the 1st Congressional District. Causey is the former chief of staff for retiring Rep. Marion Berry, a Democrat who represents the district.

In the 30-second spot, Clinton touts Causey's record on protecting veterans' benefits and protecting Social Security. He says that Causey "has a track record of results for Arkansas."

Causey is running against former state Sen. Tim Wooldridge in Tuesday's runoff election. The winner will face Republican Rick Crawford in the general election.
