Obama, Corker Clash in Private Meeting

Like all the other GOP'ers that supposedly tried to work on bills, Healthcare, Financial Reform, Immigration, and Climate/Energy, Corker worked a long time, but never really wanted to complete the project.

Since Obama took office, on every piece of major legislation, McConnell or Boehner has sent ONE Senator or Congressperson to supposedly "work" on the bill, but the mission was never to finish it. One person would work for weeks, feign frustration, then another person would come into the negotiations with the same instructions from the Minority leaders. Work for weeks, feign frustration, then McConnell or Boehner would come out and talk about why the bill should be re-started from scratch, then the whole circus would begin again.

Did they think we didn't notice? Corker, Imhofe, McCain, Graham, Sessions, Grassly, Gregg, etc....all with specific orders to never be happy with a final bill.

The Democrats were elected overwhelmingly in 2008, and the GOP just can't accept that they are the minority party who does get to dominate on the legislative agenda.

But the Dems have figured out that they must pass the bills - even without the GOP - so we will have legislation inspite of the GOP, not because of it. Many GOP ideas are in the bills - that's why some are so watered down.

Remember - the GOP voted down immigration reform when McCain proposed it with Kennedy (bi-partisan!) five years ago. A bill their own president, Bush, supported. We don't have a federal bill on this because the Repubs stopped one.

The GOP voted down the healthcare reform that is almost identical to the bill passed by Romney in Massachussetts, but because it was non-Dem and OK by Obama - of course they incited the most uncivil discourse in the past 40 years.

Fiscal reforms? They struggled to leave back doors everywhere for their buddies at the banks. The Repubs had to vote for a bill, but they are hoping the public doesn't get what they did to water down the bill.

Obama knows his policies and the Dem's actions to push his policies on the majority of Americans who don't want them have put the Dem's at extreme risk of losing many house and senate seats this Nov, and now is trying to make things look like bipartisanship to dig the Dem's (who face being replaced) out of a political hole. Aint happenin!!!
