BECKLEY, W.Va. — U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall and Republican challenger Elliott "Spike" Maynard say they're ready to debate each other anytime, anywhere.

Maynard accepted Rahall's challenge to debate following both candidates' victories in Tuesday's primary election.

Maynard says he'd like a series of debates with the Democratic incumbent.

Rahall was first elected in 1976 is currently serving his 17th term representing the 3rd District.

Maynard is a former Democrat who switched parties after he lost his re-election bid to the West Virginia Supreme Court in 2008.
