OK first of all we just need to have bill gates give the coutry the money to get out of this debt we are in since the government nor obama are goining to do anything about it. Obama is manly making the country in a deeper hole then we are already in so he just needs to be taken out of office since he dont care about the nations debt crisis so the solution is to kick out obama and ask Bill gates for help since it wouldnt hurt him any if he just gave away 14 trillion dollars.

The key to solving the national debt problem is to help all individual Americans get out of debt and be rent and mortgage free as soon as possible. With the united effort of business and government and the private citizen all can be debt free in a few years. Contact number 717-695-3409

In Response: To answer the question that was brought up about war costs: The CBO under the Obama admin. has reported that the total war expenditures for the Iraq conflict was $709 billion which is considerably less than the $3 trillion that the Democrats have been saying! These costs have been included in the national debt tabulation. This gives further creedance to the fact the Obama admin. has now more than doubled the national debt in his first 19 months of office. These facts have been verified by the Wall Street Journal and the Heritage Foundation aswell!!

The system is broken. Messing with the tax code will not solve our economic problems.

Spending = Income taxes + Borrowing.

Most organizations are working on reducing the spending as they should be. Some are recommending tax increases which is the wrong idea.

We must repeal the 16th Amendment to eliminate the Income tax. Replace it with the Fairtax. This will give citizens the ability to double our GDP in the next 10 years. That will double the taxes coming into the government. This will pay for all the programs and reduce the debt to zero in 20 more years.

We must prohibit the government from borrow from foreign entities. Another Amendment.

Where is the beef in this article? Where is a mention of the wars and the military industrial complex? Afterall, it is those two that have built the debt in the first place, primarily because the costs of the wars has not been in the budgets and because cost overrides and overspending for the military industrial complex have been paid for by increasing the national debt.

Military and wars spending makes up more than 50 percent of federal spending. For more on this, see this link: http://www.warresisters.org/pages/piechart.htm

If we cannot reduce the costs of the wars and the military industrial complex, we cannot reduce the national debt.

Rivlin's ideas make more sense than all of the rantings of the far left and far right, which seem to be dominating both major political parties. A pox on them both. Their (lunatic?) ideological battles have come very close to ruining the nation. They, just like the thieves in corporate management positions, then explain that since they have brought about so much ruination, they need to be retained in their positions as they too valuable to lose. We must somehow salvage our great companies and our great nation from the shambles that the present CEOs, COOs, elected officials, et al have wrought. It is ridiculous to allow them to continue raiding the share-holders profits and the national wealth on the basis of their great value to the company or nation.

Yes, they all self-destrudted! America is now exactly on the same road! This Rivlin aproach is just more nonesense that will do nothing to get America back on track. The American tax code is the disgrace of all times. In summaery America's evermore love affair with Socialism/Communism plus its inhumane and horrendous militaristic imperialism, is to America what termites are to a wooden structure! Goodbye America! It is actually me not saying so, but the Founding Fathers from their very graves. Our true National Debt due to the unfunded liabilities that of Social Security and Medicare is actually way over $100 trillion, and I wonder if Lady Rivlin could elaborate a little on that? She seem to no even being aware of such!

We don't want a handout. We want our dignity and the ability to earn the means to support ourselves, our families, and number one, our country. We do want business and industry to be patriotic Americans and be loyal to America not the currency of the moment to accrue personal, corporate wealth by any means possible including mowing down the American people in this process. We want an end to the destructive fabricated alphabet soup of foreign worker 'employment' programs by most of the multinational corporations operating in the USA. Handouts? Entitlements? It is the financial and corporate sectors who have been the beneficiaries of the most enormous handouts from hard earned tax dollars over the past thirty years ever in the history of this nation! Alice Rivlin, who is calling the kettle black?

We want corn out of petroleum and used for food. We do not support the capricious death of our 'volunteer' military for the benefit of of energy corporations who should hire their own goons for this purpose.

We want U.S. agriculture and livestock management to be conducted with 'husbandry' in mind and action and productive land to be used to feed the American people at an affordable cost.

We are sick and tired of politicians, financiers, and other self important elites here and abroad forcing us to the bottom rung as they continue the broken lie of 'globalization' on the backs of the American people. And the energy corporations who fail to understand the value of land, agriculture (husbandry, food productivity) , and stability to a healthy economy. High fructose corn syrup directly contributes to obesity. Ethanol destroys automotive and marine engines.

You may of disappeared President George Washington off of our calendars but the American people shall rise again stronger, more resilient, and EMPLOYED again in spite of the current self import of the political and financial classes. Take this credit swap, split it in half and live on it.
