10 Things You Didn't Know About Scott Brown

If asked, most people would say that Muslim extremists are our greatest danger.

I would disagree, as I am certain that regardless how long it would take, we could handle that danger.

The real danger is ourselves--Abe Lincoln said it quite clearly--"A house divided, cannot stand" We have a Senate and a House of Representatives that are only interested in being reelected, therefor will not agree to anything that gives credit to the opposition.

They are called "Liberals or Conservatives" both are extremists. To further complicate the picture, we now have the Churches trying to control the country, in spite of the Constitution requiring separation of Church and State. The basic issue is abortion.

To that end, I say, "Education---not Legislation" Let the Churches educate their people so that they follow the teaching of the Church. Our Political parties just cater to people to get their votes that keep them in power.

It is time to think of America First

to wake up. The solution to our problems do not rest on our government or beloved OBAMA. The solutions will come from us. It is the people of this country who will stand up and take charge. The reason we find our country in this mess is because WE have refused to be responsible for our situations, problems, etc. I say, it is time for the government to get out of our lives. The time to stop spending is now. Dismantle the Dept of Education, Energy, Homeland Security, Agriculture, and a few little offices some of us don't even know exist. Time to consolidate. Hiring more government employees is not the answer. Get rid of Social security disability. Stop robbing the social security system to fund entitlement programs. Enough is enough.

ABOUT OBAMA. But that won't be found in USNWR.

But hell, who here cares? The article should have been "What the 10 readers of USNWR didn't know about Scott Brown."

^^^^^ here ya go bro

http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/obama/2007/01/16/ten-things-you-didnt-know-about-barack-obama.html

have to agree though - IF USNWR figured out how to be more user friendly AND fully embraced 21st Century techno - perhaps they may gain more responders . . . or not {they might have to dump the lame "writers" & start over for that}

http://www.usnews.com/sections/news/index.html

on the other hand - the overly moderated blah blah rah rah comments on nyt & cnn are rather like a middle school lunch room on Ritalin -bland & catty- while the princpal marches around making sure all the little darlings are behaving & no one has an original thought in their heads

--HOWEVER Y'ALL MAY WANT TO CHECK OUT THE POLITICAL CARTOONS ON USNWR "FOR A CHANGE" . . . MIGHT HELP WITH YOUR SOUR MILK SPIT-UPS--

Couldn't agree with you more. If Americans did more thinking than blabbing, then maybe we could get along and get something accomplished. It is sickening to see otherwise normal-looking people, kicking this President under the bus after such a short time. It is a also a sign of our times when instant-gratification is the standard instead of a patient pondering of our genuine needs. This economy is knocking sense into some.

I didn't vote for Senator Brown, but I do hope he is able to be true to his integrity and work honestly and thoughtfully for the citizens of Massachusetts and the country....can that happen in Washington?

tlynette:

It was Obama who, according to the Arkansas Democrat Congressman, told his staff, that the difference between the failed 1994 Health care plan and 2010 is "You've Got Me". Is that not Messiahnic enough for you?

I hope Obama does remain angry and steadfast in his approach because thet will ensure the Progressives lose more seats in 2010 and Obama loses re-election in 2012. I do fear though his narcism may cause him to become even more reckless as he pursues idolation.

First off, let's clear up who thinks who is a 'messiah' -- the lemmings of the US (AKA the voters and the press) tag the latest newest big thing as the last word in whatever. Big goals? Sure. Lofty ideals? Yes. However, Obama has yet to proclaim himself as the nation's savior--that was foisted on him by talking heads and folk that hear only what they want to hear, so get real. It took quite a while to dig a hole this big, so it will take quite a while to dig out. If you recall, he's been saying all along, righting the ship of state won't happen in one year, or even in one term, so, again, GET REAL!

Now, back to the lemmings: Scott Brown will inevitably say or do something that folk won't like, and he'll get thrown under the bus just like every other 'outsider' politician before him--and after him, the cycle will go on and on. Yeah, they just luv them some Scotty the Centerfold now, but just wait. That's what we seem to do every election. All that love Obama was feeling? Listen to the beefing, bitching and moaning now. What our problem is we vote for an idea that is usually not grounded in reality--and, of course, the cutest candidate. Governing is an enterprise that requires some good skills in judgment, management, psychology, and a few other -ologies. It's not for the fainthearted, nor should it be left to the guy with the nicest teeth. Our issue should be to educate ourselves to know what our "representatives" are supposed to be doing, hold them accountable to do it, and be engaged enough to pay attention to the situations around us. Any joker can claim to be an I-love-my-country 'outsider' a la Mr-Smith-Goes-to-Washington, and say all the right things--until they get there, and realize cooperation and bi-partisanship are somewhat Capra-esque and elusive--not impossible, but sloooooooow to take hold. It's unfortunate, because the lemmings have no patience, and will not only talk about them like dogs if they have to compromise some things in order to get some things, but kick 'em to the curb if they don't produce something quickfastandinahurry. There is no new thing under the sun, so if we REALLY want "change," why not go Green or Libertarian or other true established party outsiders? (Like that's gonna happen!)

We do it to ourselves all the time, but, God willing, at some point we voters will get with the program, and start thinking a little more clearly about what we ACTUALLY want and need, and why we elect who we elect. Maybe we might even determine how serious we really are about 'moving our country forward' or all those other catchphrases we keep using.

tlynette of IL 11:08AM January 26, 2010

not merely the "Scott heard round the world"

but just look at all those {delicious Boston cream} donuts Brown is spinning on the White House's front lawn

hopefully he keeps his word and doesn't fall into the same partisan viper pits as the majority of his fellow congressmen & women - on BOTH sides of the aisle - who are the proverbial poster children for Term Limits

tiger lily of DC 6:54AM January 26, 2010

So many people I know love Scott Brown. He does not act like he is the Messiah as Obama does. Scott Brown is a man who wants to get things down. Obama is the most divisive politician I have ever seen. Obama and his policies are just wrong.

Sean Burns of MA 9:44PM January 25, 2010

in the Senate voting against needed reforms and legislation, the better. This guy in reality will look just like Mitch McConnell and John Boehner.

Or,....maybe he'll be a bi-partisan statesman here and there and side with the Dems, and the McConnells and Boehners will learn to hate him.

But just another obstructionist being granted a different national toad pedastal than the rest of them? Nope. Not past a few weeks.
