Please run Mr Dean as I would love to vote for you to cast a ballot against President Obama, The Chosen One. Of course it would only be a protest vote, as you like most left wing dems wouldn't get my vote for dog catcher.

May Dean's actions blanch OBummer!

How many times has Obama put his foot down- really? First he allowed the pork filled stimulus plans ( which failed miserably at job creation), then it was the auto unions and AIG, and now there's healthcare reform. The point that everyone overlooks is that evidence suggests that nearly HALF of all illnesses ( Diabetes, Obesity, Dementia) are caused by poor diet- so if we want to reform healthcare- the place to start is at the grocery store, not the Doctor's office.
: A 50% discount on all low glycemic index food for anyone with a Senior ID or Food assistance card would be a start. Won't happen, however.

I hate to say this, even as a Republican, but Howard Dean is right. The healthcare insurance reform bill as it is now being called, since Obama could not sell it as the "Healthcare Reforn" he promised during the campaign, does not go far enough. It nibbles around the edges, makes too many concessions to the insurance lobby and certain Senators, and assumes too many actions by future Congresses that we all know will never happen. It really needs to look at reforming the system from the root causes; like fee for service, community rating of premiums to equalize risk, wellness programs, and the like. That would be real reform not just the kabuki theater that is currently going on that is supposed to look like real action.

I never understand those folks who thought Obama as a "left wing liberal". If you really followed the campaign, Obama often made comments that I knew would not sit well with the lefties. Course compare to McCain/Pain, Obama is a flaming liberal wing-nut. For me, he is what I voted for (though I certainly can quibble with some of his decisions).

I think the "leaders" of the two main parties show two loaded guns,Steele and Dean. MY, how far have we come in the past few months.

Dean speaks for me and for many of us formerly apolitical, even former Republican, well educated, idealists who were energized and inspired by his run for the presidency. We became wildly political, changed parties and gave money and finally had someone honest, smart, kind, hard working and amazingly prescient and bravely outspoken about everything!
He's been trashed by the media and then used and abused by the very man the good doctor loyally supported and did so much to get into office. Raum Emanuel had a lot to do with it, that jealous and vicious right hand man to Obama. Those who pay attention know how hateful he was during the campaign.
I guess we hoped Obama was the same kind of person as Howard Dean when we voted for him. Instead, we see he's just another old style politician who has sold his soul and sold out his former supporters, the "democratic wing of the Democratic Party", as Howard Dean would call us.

President Obama needs a Howad Dean to not be effectively taggedas 'too liberal' by the right. If the President disagrees with John McCain on one side and Howard Dean on the other than he is in the middle.

Dean has a loyal follwing, the President needs progressives in his coalition of the frustrated, and Dean is perceived as direct & honest.
Would it help for Dean to be Party chair again? Howard Dean is one of the reasons President Obama was elected. He has excellent organizational skills. He would have been a fabulous surgeon general.
Howard is energetic, focused, consistent, fully focused on improving the lives of ordinary Americans. He is not a fence-sitter, and this angers the party hacks. He also frightens the party establishment because he is willing to call anyone out who is not honest or is paid off by special interests. Obama needs this type of guy as his chief of staff. Get rid of the "insider" there, and get someone who will make ethical choices.
I also agree with Panskeptic of MT above -
USNWR never chews on the stories in the Republican camp, like all this mess with Steele, all the Republican seats up for re-election in the Senate, all the lies that are told daily by the Republicans. You guys should be truith-checking all claims - all sides. An example - Guiliani saying no terrorism under Bush when we were attacked multiple times successfully 2000 to 2007. Remember 9/11, the anthrax, the shoe bomber, the DC shootings, the van driven into a crowd, and multiple attackes losing thousands in Iraq?
USNWR - Very one-sided reporting - as usual. Your agenda trying to take down Obama is obvious. Is it a Republican agenda? Tea-Partier? AIPAC lobbying money? Bank lobbying money? Insurance company lobbying money? PHARMA? You should be committed to the truth - not spin. Shame on you for lame reporting.

Actually, the problem is U.S. News and World Report running multiple articles with the headline "[fill in the blank] is a Big Problem for Obama."
The headlines are all alike and the articles read alike. The inescapable conclusion is that someone in charge drools with anticipation every time someone comes up with another repetition fresh from the kitchens of Chicken Little.
Don't the people at USNWR bore themselves to death spewing the same old screed, or do they really believe this stuff?
