China is setting the stage for dominance over America. Of course they want us to play nice.
China has a near monopoly over the advanced technologies requiring rare earth metals. China has announced they no longer will export any raw rare earth metal materials in 2012 and will only export finished products (wind turbines, formable permanent magnetes, hybrid car batteries, etc.
East Asia emits 40,000,000,000 pounds of aerosol pollutants per year, 10 billion of that descends upon North America every year. That is the real pollution we face, and China doesn't want us criticizing them for the emissions.
When will the press realize we're being played?

It's working perfectly with the good-hearted, well-intentioned but poorly-informed Americans.
The biased media are several orders of more sophisticated than the stupid (and sometimes comical) communist propaganda.
Chinese nowadays is like Jews in the 1930s.

What the President is doing all over the world is letting them know that the US is a friend and a partner, not an adversary. Goodwill starts with a smile and saying Hi! Cordial and cooperative relationships are based on goodwill. Bush and his cronies spread hatred and confrontation. Obama is trying to undo the damage.
Sure we hate communism and condemn human rights violations, but how do we reverse that? China's increased interest in capitalistic principles will in time demolish communism, which will become like old and backward tradition in the minds of most Chinese. It may be a long road but the trip has started.

Assuming the communist government is continually maturing and receptive is a dangerous presumption. The communists care about their own privileges way more than the improvement of the world as a whole...You always need to both communicate effectively with and warn the communists where your bottom line lies. Otherwise you attempt to persuade a narrow-minded regime into improving international reality is likely to fail
Why play nice with a country that violates human inside and outside its own borders and has all our manufacturing jobs...I said "has all our manufacturing jobs"...I SAID "HAS ALL OUR MANUFACTURING JOBS!!!!" HELLO?!! ANYBODY IN WASHINGTON LISTENING?!!!

Raped little girls and then slaughtered the entire families and villages. These were reports from the NYTimes and major medias a couple years ago about what the American soldiers did to Iraqis civilians. One million Iraqis dead, cause by Bush's war, is actually an underestimate. Western organizations always underestimate the destruction caused by their own governments.

Here's a very postponed review of a l913 book. It's the official record of proceedings at the 4-day meeting in Boston Cathedral of The Great American Catholic Missionary Congress. It began years before in the home of the Chicago Archbishop of Chicago. A man asked "What is the purpose of this group? It is to make this nation & this hemisphere Catholic. Let those stop us who can." A China missionary said "China is ripe for the harvest." He asked them to imagine what it meant if those millions of Chinese began to serve the Catholic church. The book was published by subscription, and no media at the time covered the meeting as a news event. It seems astounding that any church would be willing to declare its intention to make the USA a theocracy. Nothing can happen from my mention of this event, but if anyone finds a copy, I think they will also be amazed at the boldness of the speakers. There were 1100 official delegates.
