I don't think its appropriate to call it the "public" option. It is one parties idea of how to control a society. I think healthcare is an important thing to address, but for one or two powerful people, i.e., Pelosi and Reid, to develop this society changing legislation is immoral and unamerican.

It is time for the Administration to START OVER -- CLEAN PIECE OF PAPER!! Keep the far left and far right out of the picture, and develop a true Health Care Reform package for the American people -- NOT THE US GOVERNMENT.
As a minimum, the following elements should be included:
* TORT reform – a real driver of costs!
* Health Savings Accounts to allow individuals to at least be partially responsible for their OWN health care.
* Inter-border health insurance sales
* Targeted language for fraud, waste and abuse of MEDICARE and MEDICAID.
* New initiatives to provide scholarships for doctors and nurses to pursue medicine to preclude a further shortage of doctors and nurses. Folks, there is no need to develop a ‘Health Care System’ if you do not have a viable delivery system.
* Language that will permit government funds for health care be only expended for US CITIZENS.
NEED TO KEEP NANCY PELOSI, HARRY REID, AND BARNEY FRANK AWAY FROM THE PAPER!! HOW HAS THEIR ‘DOG’S BREAKFAST’ WORKED FOR YOU SO FAR???

Anyone who thinks the con artists in Washington can be trusted to run our health care industry hasn't been paying attention. Those nitwits couldn't even do "cash for clunkers" right. It is time to send them all packing and send some people to Washington who have some common sense. This monster of a bill would bankrupt the country. This is what you get when you elect someone with Obama's lack of experience to the Presidency.

First off, whoever says Obama is untruthful and should be impeached is the biggest biased individual... EVERY POLITICIAN LIES... BUSH JR. LIED FOR 8 YEARS!!! CLINTON LIED. BUSH SENIOR LIED...ETC. It's what all politicians do best. They offer one thing and then they do another. They just say things to get people to vote for them.
That being said, let's look at the real issue why Insurance Premiums and Medical Costs are so unaffordable:
1. Hospitals, doctors, and labs charge an arm and a leg. I went to the Hospital ER for a Saturday visit about 8 months ago. My fever wouldn't go away for 4 days and my PCP was booked. They took an x-ray of my chest, the doctor there consulted me for 4 minutes to tell me I have possible pneumonia, but he's not sure, and he prescribed medication. It came out to $1,450!!!That's the problem. How does a 6 minute visit (with X-Ray included) come out to $1,450??? It's because we allow Doctors and Hospitals and medical offices to get away with Highway Robbery. It's all about allowing them to drive their Ferraris and Lamborghinis... They need to afford those you know...As long as they continue to charge ungodly rates, Insurance Companies have no choice but to keep raising premiums...
2. The American diet is unhealthy. We, as a culture, consume more junk food and garbage than any other country... It's developing an obese and unhealthy population that is driving up costs for care...
3. Prescriptions cost too much. With prescription costs going up, Insurers again have no choice but to charge more premiums.
Let's stop blaming Insurance Companies. Yes, they do need to make a profit. BUT SO DO ALL OTHER BUSINESSES IN THE US!!! And that's what keeps our country's quality of products and materials at a premium. Without profits, quality of care will drop (have you really seen medical care in Europe? It's not pretty. My uncle in England needed to wait 4 months for a visit to check on a skin growth...). Without profits, there will be a slowdown in medical research.
We need to keep Insurers in the business and yes, government subsidies are not a bad idea to keep costs lower. Let the Insurers run the government programs (just as we do for medicare).
If you have been to any government office (DMV, Social Security, etc.), I'm sure you have a flavor then of what public medicine may look like... I don't want that taste in my mouth...

Keep your plan, cover everyone, better coverage and costs less! No one, NO ONE believes it! Trying to scape goat insurance companies and their "obscene profits" and making money "while the bodies pile up". Look it up...health insurers have ANEMIC profits. The lies have been continual, broadly dispersed and being discovered.
John Dingle claims these bills were conceived in "the greatest openness". Come on...how dumb do they think they are.
1. CLAIMS are the reason health care is expensive. Guess what? It's going to get A LOT worse unless we decide what we're willing to pay for. Obamacare takes you out of that equation.
2. Medicare OUTSOURCES the majority of claims work to the same Health insurers Pelosi bashes. Why? Because they're so incredibly good at it.
3. They blame the Town Hall attendees for not being polite. Most would love an open discussion but, per Dingle, what they already did WAS open. When you're sprinting to get it done while "discussing" it's a ruse. People recognized it and rightfully blew their tops.
Vote it in dems...vote it in! You will rue the day when it's repealed by your legislative Republican replacement!
Except in San Francisco.....Ms. Pelosi is safe!!

Do you know where these people who don't want a Public Option are coming from? I certainly don't. Here we have a health care system in crisis. Costs have been exploding for years. Businesses can't afford offering health care as a benefit without increasing their employees' contribution toward premiums. Insurers get away with cherry picking those they will cover, offer no portability of coverage when the insured change or lose their jobs, and have overhead costs quadruple those of Medicare.
And we're supposed to fear a government takeover of health care in this country?
Again, where are these people who oppose a Public Option coming from?
Ron W. Smithof UT8:18PM November 04, 2009
he said no public option
he said no public funding for abortion
he said he would be transparent
he said he would be the president for all Americans
Besides lying he gave us ACORN,Van Jones,man/boy Jennings,Dunn,Ayers,Wright,Flager, retzco,Blag,Emanuel,Axelrod.
Obama the usurper has been outed and now its time to take back our country.
yolandaof MT4:31PM November 04, 2009
Public Option is code for government takeover of healthcare.
American does not desire nor need public option and all that it means at the hands of Obama and his Czars.
Otgher options are available and have been proposed by the Republicans. But Pelosi and Reid either won't allow proposals to be voted on, or veto them along party lines.
Obama LIED when he said he wanted bipartisan government. He needs to be impeached for dishonesty.
