Maybe the Consumers' Price Index should be revised, since it no longer reflects reality. Perhaps the bozos who administer/evaluate the components of this Index can include Health Care, energy costs and food costs in the CPI. I can guarantee the Index would not be flat anytime in this century!

every since the health plan started, every health bill IVE HAD HAS BEEN MORE,what was 5.00dollars is now 20.00,what was 100.00is now 250.00, I CAN'nt even afford a MrI, IT NOW cost me 400.00dollars which I DON't have, all my diabetic stuff I now have to pay for,at least a co-payment .I'm 82 tears old and was looking forward to maybe having the stimulus money to really be mine but you rich people took care of that. I LIVE with my oldest daughter whom has been out of work for two years now, she's 59 years old.I get 1238.00dollars ,I pay her housepayment and what other bills I can,we are on food stamps and if it were not for the LORD and others that help us we'd be homeless.I am so very thankful to THE lord THAT I belong to the LORD and pray daily for all who do not know him,if it wasn't for JESUS, WE;D BE IN DISPAIR.I no longer look to or trust the government and after all these years it's a very sad thing to say about our country.I love living here and feel so bad for others;who are so very much worse off than we are.I don't know why I'm even writing this but naybe some one some where will think of others.

I havve to agree with Sherry of AR. Every word strikes true. Congress and the Senate, along with all other government employees continue to give themselves raises while crying poverty in the Social Security Funds. This is crap. There is and has always been a fund called the Social Security Slush Fund. This money is spent on who knows what, but not on anyone collecting Social Security. They will deny it exists, but when I cornered them on the phone, the rep. I was talking to admitted it exists. But not for the public.
Indeed, all the prices are going up. Maybe the economy isn't because of all the jobs lost, but in order to keep businesses running, they have to raise the prices. And they have. I have noticed a 33 percent increase in just the cost of my food. And don't dare buy anything I don't have to buy. There's no money. I am currently at the bottom of the Social Security / SSI scale.

I do not know why the goverment thinks they have the final say in what kind of money all of the United States americans who are on SS deserve to receive when they give their own raises and poor people like me and millions sit here and struggle terribly every month. I do not know what country they live in up there in Washington but to tell us americans on Disability, SS, or SSI that there was not a cost of living increase due to there not being a change in our economy but yet groceries, gas, and all bills have all risen. So my question is they live high off the hog while we poor people sit here and get less and less food, and can not afford to live comfortably. ALL of us on SSI or SS or SSDI suffer more each month with constant increases of prices on everything, I guess the GOvt. wants us to drown well they are getting their wish.
