Olympia Snowe is the best member of the US Senate...and the smartest! We need more like her; moderates and bipartisanship in Congress and in the Presidency, not less. The current dysfunctional federal government has got to go. And...we don't need more conservatives or more liberals! We need a more functional US government that works; not just saying it with rhetoric but doing it with action! Only in this way will we get a Congress and a Presidency that works. And it is long overdue.

Partisan politics are poisoning every discussion. Can we have an intelligent dialogue about an issue without qualifying every position as "Obama", "Republican" or "Democrat"? Must we label everyone by their religion? Can't we examine the merits of an idea and not attach partisan labels? In other words, can we rise above childhood name calling and recognize that reasonable people can disagree? It doesn't make them evil, brainwashed, or stupid.
Even when I agree with the underlying policy issue, I can't endorse many of the opinions shared above when they drip of personal venom.

Either Snowe's district in Maine is so screwed up they don't know they have a Democrat/Rhino as their "Republican" Congressman or they don't care. Olympia Snowe is a two-faced Rhino traitor & it's time for her to go.

I love how every time under the Cheney administration that if you were against what the Repukicans were for, you were "unamerican". Well, guess what, repukicans, you are now unamerican. We now have to fix this mess you got us into. Maybe we can cut taxes to ZERO and have no public anything, like SSI. medicare, Medicaid, Military, Police, education (you'd like that so you can keep people stupid), transportation, infrastructure, etc.

People in Maine are very poor. No jobs other than to travel to other states to work and Maine gets the taxes at the end of the year without bringing jobs into the state. People live next to poverty conditions north of Portland, how Snowe thinks the people can continue is beyond me.
Snowe has gone with every bill and tax known...what is wrong with her.
Myself, I'm just barely holding on to my home living on SSI. Our taxes are sky high for property, electricity, telephone, gasoline, food, bottle bills, ...you name the tax and Maine has it.
I don't get snow plowed in the winter and I have to pay for trash drop off, along with no delivery of mail...why do I still live here with a state that doesn't care!I'm stuck here, that's why!
I made the mistake of moving into Maine from NH in 1999, one mistake I'm paying for with my life.
Thanks Sen. Snowe for all your help...please make sure your at my funeral to throw the first handful of dirt!!!

All you have is negative words for America. What is Christiasn about invading a country for no reason. Killing thousdands of innocent people.The past Admin. put America up to their necks in debt. Destroyed the American image in the world. What business do you have trying to control abortion. That is a persons private business. I don't see Right wing donating $$$
to support unwanted children by juvinile girls. You are phony Christians. The previous 8 years with 2 fraft dodgers running the country allowed all company's to do as they please causing many companies to go into bankrupcy. They should be arrested & imprisoned.

Olympia is living up to her name. She is definitely "Snoweing" her constituents. Maybe she should review the conservative philosophy; and if she feels she can't abide by it, be honest and change political parties. That's called itegrity. I know that may be asking too much of a politician, but one can always live in hope.

Sen. Snowe is a disgraceful coward, who stands for nothing. The fact that she pretends to be an Orthodox Christian, yet votes for every liberal anti-Christian bill possible is beyond the pale. When will we quit supporting politicians solely based on their being of Greek lineage? We should support Greek-Americans who have character, integrity, and promote the conservative American values that made our families and ourselves successful immigrants to this land of opportunity.

Snowe, along with all the other Greek Orthodox Christians (if that is what she is) should be excommunicated for being pro-abortion. You can also bet Olympia Snowe will vote with the Democrats 99% of the time.
